Finding My Family - and learning to let them go. Is this really how the journey ends? I know it sounds sort of morbid, but this is one of my favorite death certificates and not for reasons that you might suspect. It took me three years to find this man and the little that is known about him. He is my great great grandfather on my mothers fathers side. If you could follow that you are already a pretty good genealogist. Its not what it says about the man that makes me happy, but what it does not say.

Finding My Family - and learning to let them go. Daughters of the American Revolution. It took five years of steady research and documentation to link my mom, Betty Jean Hayes, to James Barber. Her last wish was to gift her legacy to her grand daughters. And this she did not more than a month before her death. I plan on using the blog for this site to show how to research your own ancestry.
