The final stretch. The last lap. The light at the end of the tunnel. Whatever you call it, it sucks. | Bona Fide Betty

Writing my way to authenticity. The final stretch. The last lap. The light at the end of the tunnel. Whatever you call it, it sucks. Here’s the thing… with the exception of my career, I’ve never really been a “finish what you start” kind of girl. I’ve started and dropped more diets, hobbies, projects and book ideas that can possibly be counted. Remember the path to hell that’s paved with good intentions? Dozens of the tiles on that path were paved by me. Just wanted to check in. Love you all! Go, go go.

Writing my way to authenticity. This post is written by… wait for it… Dr. Bona Fide Betty! Throwing confetti and glitter in the air*. I’m done. Finally. After years of grad school, the writer’s block has been cracked good and deeply and my dissertation is complete, defended, and approved. I’ll be printing and delivering the official copies for binding this week, and walking across the graduation stage to be hooded on August 10. As Jenny Crusie says, Nothing but good times ahead! Honoring the Work | Bona Fide Betty

Writing my way to authenticity. My dissertation has been kicking my ass for months, and I am way behind, as usual. But I am making progress. Progress is being made. There will be an end to this damn project one day soon. In the case of the mug, SLUTS stands for Southern Ladies Under Tremendous Stress, which I definitely am. This corner of the office is a much nicer place now, and I got some writing done today, thanks in no small part to you lovely ladies. 6 thoughts on “ Honoring the Work. Fill in your d...

A Thankful List | Bona Fide Betty
https://bonafidebetty.wordpress.com/2012/11/18/a-thankful-list
Writing my way to authenticity. Once again, I am blatantly stealing an idea from Lora, the fabulous LitDiva. 5 Things I am Thanfkul for At This Moment:. 1 Indoor plumbing, electricity and Internet (which we had a few days without last week and which I am eternally grateful to have again). 2 Antibiotics and medicine (cause even though this cold/cough mess is AWFUL, I know it is not life-threatening and my son and mom will be OK soon). What are 5 things you are thankful for, in this very moment? Those are ...

https://bonafidebetty.wordpress.com/2012/11/01/nanowrimo-anyone
Writing my way to authenticity. Any Betties doing NaNoWriMo this year? Since it’s part of my dissertation study, I am jumping in to NaNo, spitting in the face of my massively past-due to-do list. Now I will have two manuscripts to procrastinate with! Hee, hee…. If you’re also jumping in as a Wrimo this year, add me to your writing buddies list. My NaNo username is kekky78. Here’s to a month of great writing… See you in December! A Thankful List →. 5 thoughts on “ NaNoWriMo, anyone? Go BonaFide, Go! You a...

Bona Fide Betty | Writing my way to authenticity | Page 2
https://bonafidebetty.wordpress.com/page/2
Writing my way to authenticity. Do you consider yourself to be a strong person? If so, how do you know? What makes you strong? I have never considered myself to be strong, but am reconsidering my definition. If I am strong, I want to learn how to nurture my strengths and get stronger. This is a pretty random, rambling blot post. But most of the Betties who comment here strike me as strong and self-actualized, so I hope to hear from you all. Now back to the frantic race of dissertation deadlines…. 2 IRB a...

Writing my way to authenticity. After years of grad school, I miss fiction with an aching heart! Now I am reading novels as fast as I can, trying to fill a massive story void. Plus, I finally have time to watch Dr. Who. Nothing but good times ahead! My reading (and audiobook) list since completing the dissertation:. By JD Robb (audiobook re-listen). Dream a Little Dream. By Susan Elizabeth Phillips. By Joshilyn Jackson (audiobook). The Dresden Files # 2) by Jim Butcher (audiobook). Enter your comment here.

New Year, New Identity | Bona Fide Betty
https://bonafidebetty.wordpress.com/2012/12/31/new-year-new-identity
Writing my way to authenticity. New Year, New Identity. Happy 2013, everyone! May this year bring blessings and joy to you. I’m keeping my first name (Kelly) because I doubt I’d be able to learn to answer to another. So I need a last name that would work with Kelly, or maybe Kell. Something easy to spell and easy to remember. Any ideas? Y’all know me pretty well… can you think of last names that would be a good fit? Thanks for the help. Happy New Year! 8 thoughts on “ New Year, New Identity. Joselyn Kell...
