Finding RedFern

Tuesday, November 12, 2013. In the last post I promised more creativity. Here ya go! Well, I saw this wall. Over on Suzanne's blog and immediately loved it! I had, black, white, yellow and grey paint. I went out in search of a purple to match the Stag's head painting I already had in the hallway and just choose an orange to round out the group. Tapping the horizontal walls took the longest. Once the lines were up the fun began! Painting "random" patterns took a lot of planning. Ha! Year long resolution, ...

Finding RedFern: April 2012

http://www.findingredfern.blogspot.com/2012_04_01_archive.html

Sunday, April 22, 2012. I watch a lot of YouTube videos. A Lot. Most of what I know is from the internet or TV. I bragged on Facebook awhile back that I could hem a pair of jeans, without actually knowing that I could, you know, 'cause I saw it on YouTube. Sooo, my first attempt was on my cousin/roommate Lia's jeans. Never mind, I don't wanna know. The seam before and after. At the end of the process, the old hem will still be at the bottom of the pant and the new stitch will essentially be hidden. I...

Finding RedFern: June 2013

http://www.findingredfern.blogspot.com/2013_06_01_archive.html

Saturday, June 1, 2013. Yet another baby gift. This taggie blanket was my first attempt that this pattern. It came from Suzanne over at JustAnotherHangUp. I altered it a bit, but I think he came out fairly adorable, not quite as adorable as my friends Chris and Traci's baby, Grayson, but still. Lionus Taggie Blanket, Done! I made this little guy for my friend Annemarie's second child, Morgan. The "monogrammed" M looked a little bigger than I expected after I stuffed him, but I like him anyway!

Finding RedFern: August 2012

http://www.findingredfern.blogspot.com/2012_08_01_archive.html

Monday, August 6, 2012. I often get lost in google image searches. It's bad. I won't even remember what I began searching for and then I'll notice its two hours later. But, I gotta tell ya, I find some pretty cool stuff. As is becoming usually, I started this project with a trip to Vally Thrift. This odd little lamp came home with me. Lots of time spray painting and zip-tieing and this little spot in the living room went from looking like this. Here's a close- up of the shade when its on.

Finding RedFern: Week 29 Project

http://www.findingredfern.blogspot.com/2013/02/week-29-project.html

Sunday, February 10, 2013. I had four friends give birth in the span of five weeks during the holidays. I finally wrapped up some of the gifts I had created and got around to going to visit some of the mommas and babies. So I can finally post about this project that I started at my friend Mindy's house. like 5months ago? I got the pattern from Suzanne over at http:/ justanotherhangup.blogspot.com/. And now I present my taggie owl. I made one for Tommy and one for Max. I hope they love them!

A Redhead Said...: January 2015

http://aredheadsaid.blogspot.com/2015_01_01_archive.html

Saturday, January 3, 2015. The Holiday Season 2014. Christmas was much fun this year! Adam is such a fun age to really enjoy all the festivities, magic and anticipation of Christmas. We started December with what has become tradition with my sister's family - the annual Horse-Drawn Carriage festival in downtown Lebanon. Or, as my brother-in-law would call it, the annual street-fair-of-food-in-the-cold. This is typically followed by some outlet mall shopping to kick of the season of buying! And each year ...

A Redhead Said...: June 2015

http://aredheadsaid.blogspot.com/2015_06_01_archive.html

Saturday, June 6, 2015. We wrapped up Adam's soccer season in May, and I'll have to say, it was pretty successful. The season started in March and it was cold. Muddy fields from the ice and layers upon layers to stay warm. Occasionally we caught him being less-than-focused. I once had to extract his cleats from the goal net while he was playing goalie. He's five. And his absolute favorite part of the game was the snacks that came after. To get his attention, to remind him of his position and purpose.

A Redhead Said...: Sam's Speech, 30 months

http://aredheadsaid.blogspot.com/2015/06/sams-speech-30-months.html

Sunday, May 31, 2015. Sam's Speech, 30 months. If you were to take a peek into Sam's world these days, you'd find a boy that is more vocal than ever! When he's not thinking about it, he's actually quite chatty. Common babbling includes the repetition of sounds such as ab-a, on-a, neh, good. Da, uh, duh, ma, ba, pa, deh, tuk, guh, ott. What a lion says), and pop. Gramma has heard Grampa,. And I have heard down, on,. Technically, he has no consistent words but all promising sounds. A quick visit to an ENT ...

A Redhead Said...: April 2015

http://aredheadsaid.blogspot.com/2015_04_01_archive.html

Saturday, April 18, 2015. Our Easter festivities were a little condensed this year as I flew to Phoenix that evening to visit my grandfather. But. we made the most of our time and crammed in as many Easter activities as we could. We spent the morning with a fun Easter egg hunt at home, followed by church, and then shared the rest of the day with family (and other egg hunt! We love our Pop-Pop, and the expression on his face when he saw us was priceless! Subscribe to: Posts (Atom). View my complete profile.

A Redhead Said...: March 2015

http://aredheadsaid.blogspot.com/2015_03_01_archive.html

Thursday, March 19, 2015. It's been 3 months since my last post! We've spent the new year focused mostly on Sam's speech, scheduling appointments and evaluations and taking advantage of new resources for him. I'll update you on all of that soon. We've also been hitting the gym a lot more. Michael has lost FORTY pounds and I've been training for a half marathon again. (Notice I did not mention any lost weight myself - ha! In January Adam turned FIVE, and I've been working on his post for 2 months! To go t...

A Redhead Said...: Sam I Am, 18 Months

http://aredheadsaid.blogspot.com/2014/05/sam-i-am-18-months.html

Friday, May 16, 2014. Sam I Am, 18 Months. We took Sam to the doctor this morning for his 18 month check-up. We were a little nervous going in because we knew we'd have to have a hard talk about Sam's development. Sam is happy and active, understands and learns new concepts, lets us know what he wants, is social and interactive with other kids, and has strong physical and gross motor skills. He just doesn't say much. And he does. (Then Adam will say, "Mom, ask me if I can say 'Good'! So it's hard to make...

http://aredheadsaid.blogspot.com/2014_11_01_archive.html

Sunday, November 30, 2014. Who doesn't love November? One of my favorite months, of sure, especially since the past couple of years our friends from Florida have come up for Thanksgiving. This year we made sure to take the whole week off to spend it with them. With their 2 little ones, and my sister's little ones, we had 6 kids aged 5 and under that needed to be entertained. So, road trip! Some of the draperies down below. The natural cave entrance. I hope your table was surrounded by much love! In some ...

A Redhead Said...: Our Little Graduate

http://aredheadsaid.blogspot.com/2015/05/our-little-graduate.html

Saturday, May 23, 2015. I told myself I wasn't going to cry. But then they started the sweet Pomp and Circumstance. Music played with children's instruments. Followed by the parade of graduates in their caps and gowns. Featuring Adam looking so handsome and proud and excited. It actually makes me feel quite sad to take Adam out of school for the summer and take him away from them! It was such a sweet ceremony. Afterward there were refreshments and talk with other parents as to where our children will be ...

Words like Freedom | Guide to finding refuge in America

Guide to finding refuge in America. Finding ‘home’ in the United States. Posted by Mauro Whiteman. In Steps in the Right Direction. Asymp; Leave a comment. Every once in a while, I come across a story that really makes me feel good about the world. Now is one of those moments. Making America ‘home’. A local refugee family from Burma came to the United States in 2006, a trip nearly halfway around the world and spanning two cultures that are similarly worlds apart. Hai Doo was quoted as saying:. To the 59t...
