Soyou're probably asking yourself.what does a throw-away line from the 1994 Gen-x coming-of-age film "Reality Bites" have to do with canning vegetables? If that happens.I'll be thrilled. Do Not Despise The Day of Small Things. Growing. Learning. Living. Loving.not necessarily in that order. Saturday, September 17, 2011. From Albatross to Awesome-tross. In 2009, I spent $2,000 on something that I didn't want. I had no desire for it. I thought it was a waste of money. Butmy wife really wanted it. She doesn't ask for much. 2 weeks ago, I pulled into the front yard and set it up. Insert red-neck, hick joke about having a camper set up in your front yard here*. I got to work. The first order ...

Bringing Forth Fruit: Late Winter Review
http://bringingforthfruit.blogspot.com/2011/03/late-winter-review.html
Saturday, March 26, 2011. I know. It's spring, right? This morning I awoke to an outside temperature of 19 degrees. and as I fed the fire I watched the sunrise glisten off of the thinnest of ice that had formed over the pond I'm pretty sure that Ol' Man Winter is still lingering around. Little ones just love to help out! Here are a few pics of some of Gavin and Ivy's work! Some folded clothes to wear again later. A bed made by a four-year old! Here we are practising how to care for one another! T is for ...

Tuesday, September 6, 2011. Summer Reading Vol. 5 - Diggin' Deep Roots - The Carrot Seed. Well we had a blast visiting our carrot patch to enjoy this story. We snuggled our chairs close to the garden's edge - to be near to the real happenings down under the earth's surface. We read and re-read the book and then pulled up quite a few of our own prize carrots. Here are a few pics to show our carrot filled day! Gavin found a fat good one right away. and held it like a prize. Could anything be sweeter?

Sunday, January 30, 2011. ARRRRR - Buried Treasure! I know - I've posted enough about our rainbows and R themed activities. but this is a record for me. a way to reflect and see the growth in the lives of my children, husband and self. I'm just letting you in there if you want to - to hang around in my deeply pensive mind. Give me an alphabet letter and man, I'll go deep. So this was the result. A rainbow covered R . Complete with torn edges and pieces he had to cut apart to fit his plan. And by the way&...

Bringing Forth Fruit: Summer Reading Vol. 2: Yellow Ball
http://bringingforthfruit.blogspot.com/2011/07/yellow-ball.html
Sunday, July 24, 2011. Summer Reading Vol. 2: Yellow Ball. One nap time, Gavin and I discussed horizons, and took time to recreate Molly Bang's cover illustration. Gavin did a bit of a color study as he happily swirled white and blue. then black and blue. We made shade after shade of blue and more blue and then painted the sea and sky. It was lovely - and relaxing - and exactly what summer reading should be. How else could the elements so quickly obey? What kind of ears, Mom? Wind and waves obey.

You don’t need it. This is my first entry… It’s a short story about a conversation my son and I had in the bathroom. First let me start off by saying I am self conscious about my chesticles (boobs) I don’t think they’re the appropriate size for me. Ok so now that you know this, here goes my story… Ok! So, I was taking a shower and like always one of the kids suddenly had the urge to use the restroom. I hear knocking and my son Jay says “mom open the door I gotta go! You dont need a bra silly! Find The Blue Flower
Find The Blue Flower. Stories. Storytelling. Mind-wipes. Thursday, August 29, 2013. Hollywood, Year 1: Day 333. I am sitting outside Starbucks across from a chiseled man with deep-set brown eyes. I am trying to figure out how to ask to see his abs without this being awkward. Finally, after every bit of small talk we could possibly endure, I just say the words that sound alien in my lips: "Do you mind if I see you without your shirt on just for a second? Do I want his chest shaved? Friday, June 28, 2013.
