History of the church. Web editor Charles Tyler. Bells at All Saints' Church, Little Staughton, Bedfordshire. The tower contains a ring of five bells. Access to the loft is by a narrow stone spiral staircase in side on the south side of the tower. The bells are:. No 1 Bell (the Treble): Bears the inscription "Congregate mini sanctus meus". It was made by Miles Graye in 1654 and recast by Taylor of Loughborough in 1901. Hanging on the wall is a short poem written in 1756. This is a belfry that is free.

These were all the children of Hugh Wade and Hester Gery, the co-heiress of Bushmead Priory, both of whom are also buried in the Chancel. Hugh was a fellow of Emmanuel College and Rector of Thurning in Huntingdonshire. He died in 1832 aged 72 while Hester reached 79 years before her death in Ramsgate in 1849. The doorway into the Church shows signs of weathering which suggests that it predates the porch. Four indebts in the stone half way up on the right hand side fit the four figures of the hand - were these perhaps made by a lost soul seeking entry to the church?
