StacySix: August 2013
http://stacysix.blogspot.com/2013_08_01_archive.html
I have lost someone very dear to me. My Auntie Ann recently died of lung cancer. She was the one person in my birth family who kind-of sort-of got me and my creative madness. Honorary Aunt Elaine, Auntie Ann, and Mom,. A few years ago in Ashland. Doesn't Mom look very Judi Dench-like here? A few weeks ago, I was showing her some of my recent artwork. She had a bit of a clear stretch where she was aware and cheerful, and she loved seeing my art. Sketch for Peaceable Garden Cats, something. I was trying to...

With The Greatest of Ease. I've been drawing and drawing and drawing lately. Mostly with my beloved Copics, but with this piece, I did something I've been meaning to try for a long time. The background is painted with watercolor. The final result makes me happy. In September, I'll be the featured artist at the 5th Street Beanery. In Eugene. With a month to go, I have a lot of work ahead of me. I'm excited for it! Tuesday, July 30, 2013. Really, I just wanted to draw a narwhal. Quote from Kahlil Gibran.

StacySix: October 2013
http://stacysix.blogspot.com/2013_10_01_archive.html
It's actually been a pretty busy month. I found out about this thing called Inktober. 31 days of daily ink drawings. For me, it's been casual and fun. It's basically turned into 31 days of cat drawings. I let it. I've found myself trying some new things, and finding some ideas to work up into more formal treatments. These are the casual drawings that have led (or will lead) to more finished pieces:. Nyaang, the Last Catnipbender. Notre Dame des Petite Chats. Sunday, October 27, 2013. Self, take note.

StacySix: June 2013
http://stacysix.blogspot.com/2013_06_01_archive.html
I think I've been making real progress on my creative block lately. This ancient quote from the Talmud has been helpful:. Every blade of grass has its angel that bends over and whispers "grow, grow.". It's comforting to think that there's a part of the universe encouraging me to grow and heal and make art. It's up to me to hear those whispers and act on them. Which lately, more and more, I've been managing to do. Saturday, June 29, 2013. Work in progress: Kitchen Witch. Wednesday, June 26, 2013. StacySix: Feeding The Shadow
http://stacysix.blogspot.com/2014/09/feeding-shadow.html
Feeding the Shadow Within. I am really pleased with my recent work. Collage is a visual language I've always wanted to learn - to do something similar to favorite artists like Nick Bantock. It's complex, beautiful, and hard to do harmoniously. I'm feeling my way into it one piece at a time, learning to use my own creative voice as I remix images from the past and present to make something new. Feeding the Shadow Within. Is available as a print. Monday, September 29, 2014. Collage: Art Finds A Way.

StacySix: Collage: Art Finds A Way
http://stacysix.blogspot.com/2014/09/collage-art-finds-way.html
Collage: Art Finds A Way. Most of the time, August's daily collages were creative exercises for me - creative expression rather than emotional. There were two exceptions, though, and they are two of my favorite pieces of the collection. She Is Her Own Shelter. I created She Is Her Own Shelter. Patron Of Things Lost And Stolen. A few days after I created She Is Her Own Shelter,. The imagery for Patron of Things Lost and Stolen. Monday, September 08, 2014. September 8, 2014 at 1:31 PM. Cart Before The Horse.
