The Wayfarers: Forest fungi

http://finefeatherpress.blogspot.com/2013/10/forest-fungi.html

Sunday, 13 October 2013. After heavy rain is a great time to look for mushrooms and fungi. The variety is astonishing. But it's really hard to identify all but the obvious ones. Here is a jelly fungus a Yellow Staghorn, this is fairly easy to identify and is relatively common. But here is a selection of other varieties that I'm still working my way through the excellent Roger Phillips Mushroom guide trying to identify. Might take a while. The Wayfarers: July 2013

http://finefeatherpress.blogspot.com/2013_07_01_archive.html

Tuesday, 30 July 2013. Not much in the way of crests on this one but really fantastic to find one. They have lovely yellow spotted tummies and yellow spots on their toes. This one had made a home under a water butt. Thursday, 25 July 2013. There really couldn't be anything more beautiful or perfect, or complex. Wednesday, 24 July 2013. Monday, 22 July 2013. Real Blackcaps are quite a bit bigger and have longer beaks. Here's a Marsh tit, or, er, is it a Willow tit? What could be better on a hot day? I fou...

The Wayfarers: April 2013

http://finefeatherpress.blogspot.com/2013_04_01_archive.html

Tuesday, 30 April 2013. The world has become so much more colourful just in the last week. Honesty flowers and the bright yellow Marsh Marigolds are so bright that if you look at them in direct sunlight it makes your eyes run. Monday, 29 April 2013. The smell of the redcurrant is my favourite spring smell. Not obviously flowery it's got a distinct fruitiness to it. I'm happy to see some of the Tawny Mining Bees on these flowers,. Also one of their favourites. Friday, 26 April 2013. Thursday, 25 April 2013.

The Wayfarers: March 2013

http://finefeatherpress.blogspot.com/2013_03_01_archive.html

Friday, 29 March 2013. Finally we're seeing a little sunshine. I put some fat out for the birds and uncannily a flock of Starlings appeared from nowhere. They only come when I put fat out. They seemed to enjoy warming their shiny feathers in the early sun. Thursday, 28 March 2013. Surprise today - I'd always assumed the female Mallard had wing feathers the same colour all over but I discovered they're bright white underneath. Monday, 25 March 2013. Saturday, 23 March 2013. Wednesday, 20 March 2013. Satur...

Monday, 2 April 2012. Forgotten Treasures Part 1. As many acupuncturists do, I find myself using the same points over and over again…kind of in an acu-rut! By no means I am saying that these main points are not good but rather the opposite; points such as SP-6, ST-36, LV-3, etc. are amazing and dynamic points and they definitely live up to all the hype. However, lately I have been inspired to become better acquainted with some lesser used acupuncture points, some forgotten treasures so to say! In TCM, &#...
