Fine Mess Pottery: The Art Fair Booth Project
http://finemessblog.blogspot.com/2015/08/the-art-fair-booth-project.html
What is Soda Firing? Thursday, August 6, 2015. The Art Fair Booth Project. I do I lived in St. Paul for most of them, weighed 20 pounds less than I do now, and I mostly sold my work at arts fairs. And made a living! I've been saying for years that I am should go back to doing art fairs; my obstacles have been vehicular and boothal. (Do you like that word I just made up? So, let's see what needs to be done. The hinges are rusty and ugly. To save time, I decided to paint rather than sand right down to the ...
Fine Mess Pottery: New pots!
http://finemessblog.blogspot.com/2015/07/new-pots.html
What is Soda Firing? Saturday, July 11, 2015. Sorry to go dark for so long - several of you have emailed me to see if I'm okay, since my last post was about depression, among other things. Thank you for your kindness. I am okay - wouldn't exactly say I've got my groove back, which is why I can't seem to get a post past the draft stage, but doing alright. I think of starfish being kind of a tan-brown color, but they were amazing jewel tones: amethyst, peach, ruby, charcoal. All in all a great day. And , o...
Fine Mess Pottery: Adding Promo Codes to Paypal Buttons
http://finemessblog.blogspot.com/2015/05/adding-promo-codes-to-paypal-buttons.html
What is Soda Firing? Tuesday, May 5, 2015. Adding Promo Codes to Paypal Buttons. So, I was shopping online the other day, and looking to buy a t-shirt from The Gap. I found the shirt I was looking for. And I was sorely tempted to buy two, because I have one already and I know they are very soft, fit perfectly, blah-blah-blah. Didn't want to spend quite that much though, so I settled on a color, and went to on the complete the transaction. When I was partway through, it asked me for a promo code. If I wer...
Fine Mess Pottery: May 2015

What is Soda Firing? Monday, May 25, 2015. JK Rowling has said that when she wrote the dementors in the Harry Potter series, she meant for them to describe what depression feels like: the despair, the hopelessness, the replaying of bad memories. That all sounds about right, but when I visualize depression, I think of another dark inhabitant of Rowling's fictional world: Grindylows. They have opinions about me. Hateful opinions, all of them. Decided after being unable to kick free for months that it was t...

Beautiful living, Maine style. Saturday, November 15, 2014. Tide Pool and Cairn, Ogunquit, Maine. A gray November day, but not too cold; thought we'd get out before winter closes in. This was taken on the Marginal way in Ogunquit. A lovely walk on classic stretch of Maine's rocky coast. The walk is about a mile and a quarter; you can download a .pdf map here. If you're in Ogunquit, go see my friend Rick and Rick at On the Main. They sell pottery and other fine handmade items. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom).

days with clay: December 2009
http://heidihaugenpottery.blogspot.com/2009_12_01_archive.html
Guests in the shop. I often throw out an invitation to those people who express an interest in making something out of clay. not necessarily coming up for "lessons".just a simple project they had in mind. Instead of using my stamps/texture objects.she borrowed my lino cutter and picked up some pink erasers and after querying her friends about their 'spirit animals' proceeded to carve a load of beautiful rubber stamps. Heidi haugen: days with clay. I also notice that the stacks of misc. in the house g...

http://ceramicsnstuff.blogspot.com/2012_08_01_archive.html
Work in Progress blog. Friday, August 17, 2012. I spent ages messing with pottery stamps. Only to decide that I prefer to use my signature. It's so much quicker and can by etched into the clay with a pencil or just scribbled on with a ceramic pencil. Posted using BlogPress from my iPad. Sunday, August 12, 2012. A few hours with a professional. It was so nice to just listen to the odds and ends of what he does. The space he works in is fairly modest and considerbly open to the elements! Malcolm Greenwood ...

Work in Progress blog. Saturday, March 16, 2013. Its happy days this weeks as I have finished my first round of stripped plates and bowls. This is a dinner set for my sister. This one below is stenciled stained clay with white slip. Its something I did at TAFE ages ago and thought I would reinvent it a little. What do you use to keep track of your bloggy mates?

What is Soda Firing? What is Soda Firing? Sunday, March 25, 2018. A Little Good in the World. Help a cat find a home! You probably know that I suffer from depression. (If you don't, you must be new here! Welcome.) That is, I am not always in a depressed state but the way my brain chemistry works, I am susceptible. Oceans will part
It’s your choice! Ноябрь 22, 2013. Inspired by David Foster Wallace’s Kenyon commencement address ‘This is Water’, 2005. Some time ago I came across a didactic little story about a religious guy and an atheist sitting in a bar somewhere in Alaskan wilderness and arguing about the existence of God. So the atheist says: It’s not that I totally dismiss the very idea of God. It’s not that I’ve never tried to check this. I did! Go ahead, just do it (I hope that Nike won’t be offended here).
