Saturday, October 11, 2014. October 10 – Hurghada, Egypt. Today was the first time in awhile that a port was what we expected it to be. We expected a really Third World place and it definitely was just that. Hurghada is the third largest Egyptian city on the Red Sea. With a population of 248,000. Its primary industry is tourism. We tendered ashore to a very modern cruise terminal which was completely empty inside. Shuttle buses took us to the main shopping street. We found that strange to say the least.

Monday, October 27, 2014. October 27 - Last Day in Dubai. We awoke to another warm and sunny day in Dubai. I’m not sure they have any other kind. Since our flight home doesn’t leave until 2:20 AM Tuesday, we had a whole day to fritter away. Despite the fact that the hotel offered us use of the room until the afternoon, we decided to check out earlier, have them store our luggage and go to the Dubai Mall to kill some time. Wednesday, October 22, 2014. October 22 – First Day in India (Part 2). We had a great flight from Mumbai to Delhi on Jet Airways, an Indian carrier. I confess I had some apprehensions about it, but we flew in their business class and frsnkly, the seats were better than on British Airways Club Europe that we flew from Heathrow to Athens. We had a large lunch served to us which was some kind of Indian food involving chicken, rice, potatoes and a ratatouille. It was very tasty! No one seemed alarmed but me.

Monday, October 27, 2014. October 26 – Dubai. It was our first full day in Dubai, one of the United Arab Emirates. There are seven emirates comprising the UAE and Dubai is the most populous one with the largest city. Until 1971 it was a British protectorate. In that year an act of. And the UAE was born. Monday, October 27, 2014. October 25 - Sunrise at the Taj and then Goodbye India, Hello Dubai! We got up at the ungodly hour of 5 AM to be in line for the Taj at sunrise. When we got to the place the doors were still locked and there were already a few people in line.
