Fiona Claire Weekly Music and Creativity Blog

Sunday, 31 August 2014. Here's to lovely musical afternoons. Whoops, it's Monday morning, and this post is a few days overdue! Not to worry, time is an illusion, at least that's my excuse today. In fact I had a tremendous weekend, including teaching my usual Saturday morning singing and piano lessons, that never fail to get me off to a good start, an awesome wild party on Saturday night for friend's 50th birthday and finishing with the fabulous Darebin Songwriters Guild. And so it was that Dean and I got...

Fiona Claire Music and Creativity Blog: In the music.....

http://www.fionaclaireweekly.blogspot.com/2014/08/in-music.html

Friday, 1 August 2014. This week I was sent a link from a friend to an article that discussed the long-term positive benefits for your brain when you play an instrument. It reminded me of the drive that finally pushed me through the barriers of fear of failure, performance anxiety and a busy family life to rekindle my musical life and begin playing my own songs in public. How playing an instrument creates fireworks in your brain. Clare Bowditch - one of my faves. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom).

Fiona Claire Music and Creativity Blog: A Song - A Glimpse into a Secret World

http://www.fionaclaireweekly.blogspot.com/2014/08/a-song-glimpse-into-secret-world.html

Saturday, 16 August 2014. A Song - A Glimpse into a Secret World. One of the amazing things about human beings is that although we are all incredibly similar we are also unique. In fact, I believe that we all live in our own personal universes, each one with slightly different colours, shapes, paradigms, rules and even laws of nature. Each one is built by a fascinating combination of experience, environment, genetics and a bit of randomness. A song is a glimpse in to another's universe. I am interested t...

Fiona Claire Music and Creativity Blog: Just show up

http://www.fionaclaireweekly.blogspot.com/2014/08/just-show-up.html

Saturday, 23 August 2014. I am reading a book by the wonderful Eric Maisel, psychotherapist, writer and creativity coach - if you are interested in how creativity can be harnessed and how to surf the waves of that often elusive energy, then his work is a must read. One of the clear messages in his work about coaching yourself to be an artist, is that it's important to be disciplined and just "Show Up". Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). Fiona Claire Music and Creativity Blog: Uncontained.............

http://www.fionaclaireweekly.blogspot.com/2014/07/uncontained.html

Wednesday, 23 July 2014. One never ending task of the living artist is to juggle the uncontainable nature of art within the container that is our reality. It is a messy process, often with bits spilling on to the floor, requiring to be mopped up later. Containing the ever-expanding world of art and ideas. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). Fiona Claire Music and Creativity Blog: Dream music

http://www.fionaclaireweekly.blogspot.com/2014/08/dream-music.html

Friday, 8 August 2014. But I know the essence is still there.the music exists in my inner world and hearing it at night proves it. Perhaps the dream music is like a storehouse of all the inspiring musical ideas my brain has picked up over time, interwoven, mixed up, re-invented. Do you dream of music? How do you re-capture musical inspiration? Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). Heres to lovely musical afternoons. A Song - A Glimpse into a Secret World. Simple template. Powered by Blogger.

Fiona Claire . . . stories of Ireland

Fiona Claire . . . stories of Ireland. Welcome to this cyber nemeton, a forest filled with legend, myth, history, and - yes - even a bit of magic. The Celtic Oak Moon. The kiss of midsummer is upon us and also the waxing Oak Moon. It's a beautiful time of year. I wish you all a blessed and magical season! She kneels beneath the huge oak tree. And in sildence prayeth she.'. When Roman Christianity invaded Ireland, a shameful Irish custom began, and continued until the 1960s. It was decreed that no unb...

Fiona Claire Newsletters

Thursday, 3 July 2014. Newsletter, July 2014. Oh what fun we had…………. I have been writing these newsletters each month since March 2013 and as the deadline rolled toward me each time, and sometimes passed me by, I gathered my notes together and shared my ideas - sometimes big, sometimes small, always heartfelt. Most importantly I have learned:. That you can hold onto a dream so hard that you won’t let go even when you need to. That letting go hurts at first but then leads to wonderful clarity. I do love ...

Me, Myself & I

Me, Myself and I. Tuesday, January 27, 2009. Today was such a BORING. I wanted to go online, but my sister was using the computer. Iwanted to watch tv, but there was nothing interesting to watch. Iwanted to play the computer, but again my sister was using the computer. I wanted to study, but it was just too BORING to study. I tried to sleep, but i just can't. I turned the radio on so loud, till I can't hear myself singing. I lied on the bed and watched the clouds went on rolling. So that means, I just ad...

THE NEW CLASSICS.

You're considered superficial and silly if you're interested in fashion, but I think you can be substantial and still be interested in frivolity.' - Sophia Coppola. Friday, 6 July 2012. So in the past I can't say I've been a big fan of Miss Selfridge. I used to find some things a bit too, umm, tacky and slightly brash (sorry! But that is all in the past! We've had some good times and bad times (like the time someone spilt a drink on you - poor baby! Things are getting serious! What do you think? And a 60...
