Simone in Venice: Dutch and Nordic Pavilions
http://simoneinvenice.blogspot.com/2009/09/dutch-and-nordic-pavilions.html
Wednesday, September 30, 2009. Dutch and Nordic Pavilions. The Dutch and Nordic Pavilions were probably my favourite of the whole biennale. They joined together and invited a collaborative artist team to curate the show, which featured somewhere around 30 artists. The concept behind the show was that each pavilion was a house (one was for sale and one was owned by a collector, who featured drowned in a pool! Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). Simone in Venice: Slovenia and Luxembourg
http://simoneinvenice.blogspot.com/2009/09/slovenia-and-luxembourg.html
Sunday, September 20, 2009. Miha Strukelj (Slovenia) - I really like his work. The above is made from lego! Collision Zone: Gast Bouschet and Nadine Hilbert (Luxembourg) - I really liked this show as well. It is incredibly difficult to show in photos as it was pitch black with these blue and black videos throughout and incredibly loud noise. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). View my complete profile. http://simoneinvenice.blogspot.com/2009/09/megs-in-venezia.html
Tuesday, September 1, 2009. So Megs came to Venice again this weekend, this time with her friend Yasna, who is a hoot. Above is us having the 3rd round of celebrations for my birthday - Megan wanted to get me this cake from Marks and Spencer last time but couldn't, so she brought one with her this time. We didn't have any candles but then found the monstrosity above to go with it. L to R: Mel, Fi, Megs. L to R: Stella, Toby (Stella's boyfriend) and Yasna. Megan with her 'steamed fish and veges' which was.

Simone in Venice: Mixed Bag of Photos
http://simoneinvenice.blogspot.com/2009/09/mixed-bag-of-photos.html
Monday, September 7, 2009. Mixed Bag of Photos. Above is a photo of the markets at Rialto - they are quite amazing. There are so many fresh fruit and veg stands and further on (under the building with the arches) are the seafood markets, which absolutely smell but are nonetheless intriguing. At some other markets near where we work a man had a stingray for sale the other day! Venetian cats and dogs live on tiny balconies and have fights across the tiny streets, it's really quite funny.
