A place where I can share some things from the different bits of my life and my hobbies. Monday, 27 April 2015. I shared John's 21st party photos yesterday, so it is only fair that I share some baby photos today. Happy 21st Birthday John! This was John's favourite Christmas present. He proudly took it to church on Christmas Day to show it off - which caused some consternation amongst the good folk of the mining community we were in at the time! Not sure I have ever seen him ironing since! Some views of B...

I am on a roll now - I have done the first two weeks of February for Take Me Deeper,. I used Distress Inks direct to the page for the background, the cross is cut from grungeboard.

http://scrapsbyflapsi.blogspot.com/2012/01/progress.html
Friday, 20 January 2012. Well the blanket got finished and has gone off down to my mum to keep her lap warm when out and about in the wheelchair - just waiting on confirmation that it's big enough before I use the leftovers to do a cover for the chair cushion! I've finally got the New Lanark Aran project sorted out - after several froggings last weekend much to the amusement of everyone - I'm doing this:. And no, Owen ain't ready yet. Watch this space! Now are you sure you are not frogging it again!

Wednesday, 15 December 2010. It's getting close to Christmas! And I always think of red - probably my fave colour - is such a Christmassy colour. I did this Lacey Baktus for a present for my partner's mother - who's in hospital just now. It seemed such a cheery colour and might hopefully ward off any draughts round the neck! The wool is from the stash - it's Fyberspates BFL sock wool which I got a job lot of 6 skeins last year and have just about got through them! Monday, 13 December 2010. So I finished ...

Monday, 9 January 2012. Bake number two from my Christmas book - Blueberry and Lemon Muffins - with a secret bite of cream cheese in the middle and covered in lemon drizzle - very nice indeed! And I learned how to use the whisk bit of my food processor (and where it was). Well I suppose at least you started knitting the wool right away. Your muffins look good. 9 January 2012 at 12:40. Monday, 24 January 2011. So that's it in 2011 I am cold sheeping! No more wool to be bought til I have used it all up. Apparently I have tennis elbow. Sigh. Which of coure means no knitting and lots of rest. So my question is how do you relax when you can't knit? Friday, 7 January 2011. Finally finished Christmas and New Year! No pics of all the fun things like playing with younger nephew's new pool table and being rubbish at Wii games though. Dinner table reindeers and cake. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom).

Sunday, 26 February 2012. Sock it to me. And I'm already on the second one of their successors - Don't think I could travel without a pair of socks on the go. Thursday, 9 February 2012. So the blanket wasn't really big enough, and I did have 5 balls of wool left (and some odds and ends), so of course it had to get bigger. I picked up stitches and extended it log-cabinwise, then added an icord edging. I don't know if it's how you're meant to do an icord edging but it seemed to work! The Hand of Destiny.

Saturday, 30 April 2011. We went to New Lanark! Wednesday, 27 April 2011. And the cake. Well I decided to use my Tesco vouchers to get Good Food magazine - new recipes to try out, hopefully healthy eating etc etc. So of course I made a cake! Kind of a lemon drizzle cake with potatoes and gluten free flour. And it worked. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom). Just sharing some musings on colour and wool and photos and life. Scraps by Flapsi: November 2010
http://scrapsbyflapsi.blogspot.com/2010_11_01_archive.html
Sunday, 28 November 2010. And quickly on to winter. brrrr! Autumn didn't really hang around very long - it's definitely winter now. I know this because the roads are all white, there's a blizzard outside and the car is going nowhere. Probably not even to work tomorrow by the look of things. Hmm. Better go and make a pot of soup before I start the day's knitting! So here's the world from the third floor. Nice to get a bit of sun amidst the blizzards! Doesn't last long though! Wednesday, 17 November 2010.

There are even toys like balls and frisbees! Now on to the stuff humans want to know…. And they have their own Facebook page…. They even have a gre...

Follow me on twitter: ChosenMum. 23 Days the book. Out and about with the children. Saturday, 20 June 2015. I made my first quesadillas and they were fab! Elizabeth especially loved them. 1 tbsp sunflower oil. 1 cooked chicken breast. Some chopped up cooked ham. About 50g grated cheddar cheese. Heat the oil in a frying pan and the chicken and ham on a low heat for a minute or two, then mix in the tomato puree and soy sauce. Cook for a further 2 minutes. I served this up with some Cajun potato wedges - pe...
