The SAFF was officially launched on the 23rd March 2012 by the Right Honorable Keith Vaz MP amidst several councillors and distinguised guests. The scope of South Asian cinema, however, is vast and takes in a wide array of different film styles, linguistic regions and genres. Many fantastic regional films are overlooked, and never make it to mainstream cinema. The Festival will commence on Thursday 5th April, showing 6 films that Easter weekend, and then 1 film every week until the end of June 2012.
