Sunday, 22 February 2015. Oxford clay, first cycle ride of the year, hedging, allotment, spuds and squash. The above pics were taken during my walk yesterday morning. The water meadow beyond Glebelands was flooded in places and sticky with Oxford clay nearly everywhere. The higher fields weren't much better. Some strikingly vivid skies, though. It was also great to see the landscape again from the perspective of a cyclist. Was intrigued to see some more hedging being done along the western edge of a ...

Tuesday, 14 July 2015. Compasses inn, lower chicksgrove; fonthill lake, dredging, harper lee in oxford. Another very relaxing break at the Compasses Inn. Though, was surprised to see the water level in Fonthill Lake so low - compare the photo above with the one posted on Thursday 8th July 2010. Until we read about the dredging and maintenance project which will be undertaken later in the summer. Is published, you can read about Harper Lee's Oxford Summer School, 1948. Bug, village pump, dh/cw, trust: a family story, shiver, record, allotment. Continuing...
