Dave Muse's Outdoor Journal: Berry College WMA
http://davidleemuse.blogspot.com/2015/08/berry-college-wma.html
Tuesday, August 4, 2015. My Adventure backlog is still 3 Adventures deep. At this rate, it'll be that way forever. Right now I'm waiting on a long running build process though, so I have a little time. Maybe this week I can find a little more and get caught up. The last time Billy and I were up at Berry College, we gave it a good once over, but even after 40 miles of riding, there was still plenty left. Sunday, a week ago, we figured we'd see what else we could see. My map-printing skills left a bit to b...

Dave Muse's Outdoor Journal: November 2014
http://davidleemuse.blogspot.com/2014_11_01_archive.html
Friday, November 28, 2014. More Illness and Injury. It seems like this happened years ago too. I remember going riding with some friends from Alabama that I hadn't seen in a few months and we both had the same story: we'd been sick for almost the entire fall with only a few good days here and there. Health and fitness, return to me! Posted by David Muse. Wednesday, November 5, 2014. Not my two favorite things. Funny how they seem to accompany one another though. Yep Blooming in the fall. There is a speci...

Dave Muse's Outdoor Journal: August 2014
http://davidleemuse.blogspot.com/2014_08_01_archive.html
Wednesday, August 27, 2014. Good lord. Real life and illness. I just realized it's been over a month since I wrote anything, and it's not because I've been lazy, there just hasn't been anything going on all that journal-worthy. I've been running low on outdoor adventure (even with the little a) recently. She's gotten fast enough to be a lot of fun to ride with too and I've really been enjoying that. The ride climbs like every hill in the general Smyrna-Mableton area. Every single hill. I have no ...Haven...

Dave Muse's Outdoor Journal: Low Gap Creek
http://davidleemuse.blogspot.com/2015/08/low-gap-creek.html
Friday, August 7, 2015. The backlog is shrinking. Only 2-deep now. Lets see if I can knock out another one. The Upper Chattahoochee is north of Helen, and the town of Helen is such a popular destination this time of year that it can take 45 minutes or more just to get through it. I usually circumvent the madness on Asbestos Road. I'm not alone in this, and on a good weekend, I'm joined by all sorts of colorful characters. This time I got behind some guy rollin' coal. I approached the ford in the creek.

Dave Muse's Outdoor Journal: July 2015
http://davidleemuse.blogspot.com/2015_07_01_archive.html
Tuesday, July 14, 2015. We did stop here and there. One of our stops was Helton Creek Falls. On the way down to the falls, a guy told us there was a large Water Moccasin hanging out on a chunk of a tree that had been cut out. I asked him if he was sure it wasn't a Midland Brown Water Snake, as we're a bit far north for Water Moccasins. He wasn't sure, but either way, he wasn't going to bother it! Seemed like a good idea. Thanks for hanging out Steve. Good to see you. Posted by David Muse. John picked me ...

Dave Muse's Outdoor Journal: April 2015
http://davidleemuse.blogspot.com/2015_04_01_archive.html
Saturday, April 25, 2015. Mountain bike's fixed, more-or-less, and it was supposed to rain hardcore all day today, so I skipped out yesterday evening for some shred up at Allatoona Creek. I haven't been there in years - my Dad and I rode there just after it had first opened. I remembered glorious bench cut IMBA flow though, and I've been craving that for a while now. Plus, it's probably the closest trail to my house now, it's on The List, I need to put some miles in on the new brakes. Lets go! Still wate...

Dave Muse's Outdoor Journal: May 2015
http://davidleemuse.blogspot.com/2015_05_01_archive.html
Sunday, May 31, 2015. Yep, still exploring the Upper Chattahoochee. My map had a half dozen little dotted lines running from FS44 off into the woods, and this past Saturday seemed like a good day to find out where they go. Sadly, few of them went anywhere interesting, but there is still a bit of a story to tell. I drove up to Unicoi Gap and descended 44. I'd park at each little side trail, go walking off down it, come back, and repeat, over and over, all day. The most interesting thing though. Somebo...
