Friday, August 14, 2015. The second adventure of our southern Maine weekend was a trip to Funtown Splashtown in Saco. Unbelievably, even though we have lived in Maine for over seven years, we had never been to this amusement park, which happens to be the largest one in the state. Wednesday, February 25, 2015. End of Season Hockey Party at Sukee. Our youth hockey season has (finally) come to an end. It has been the longest sports season we've ever had, by far- the kids started right after Halloween, so it was a sixteen-week season. To put it in perspective, Kate's field hockey season lasted all of six weeks. Sunday was our end-of-the-season party at our home ice, Sukee Arena. Saturday, August 8, 2015. Kate has been begging to go ice skating all summer long, so we finally enrolled her in a "Basic Eight" skating skills class. We have to drive to the Ice Vault in Augusta for the class, since Sukee only makes ice in the winter. Kate also got new hockey skates this summer, in anticipation of her Mite season coming up.
