The lake at the Fishermen's retreat is just under 5 acres. The water is clear but brown like tea. The colour is the result of the dissolved organic. Material from the breakdown of plants. The material leaches into the slow moving stream and lake from the surroundings forests and bogs and stains the lake a clear reddish-brown. The idea with the lak. E is to let it mature with it. Catfish to over 40lb, Grass Carp to over 28lb, Pike, Perch, Roach and Tench. The lake has on-site toilet facilities and a BBQ.

An open double swim which can fish the whole Dam wall and the margins either side of the swim. Depths of 15 feet can be reached from this swim. Is also an open double swim which is built to fish the majority of the lake from double swim. Depths of 15 feet can also be reached from this swim. Is a single swim which is very social for the swims either side. Depth in the middle of this swim is 7 feet.

They relied on a truck tire inner tube for floatation and were relatively small compared to todays model. You were in theater from the waist down and, with the primitive waders back then, it was cold and uncomfortable fishing. We loved it! Saturday, November 30, 2013.
