Dec 6th, 2006 @ 03:16 pm. Hey there, i was given a parrot fish by a friend of mine and right now he isn't doing so hot. What temperature shold his tank be at? Also, he is swimming near the surface with his mouth out most of the time now and he will not eat, i have sinking fish food pellets for him which he was raised on and he isn't eating. he stopped just before i did a total cleaning of his tank. Please help i lurv the little guy and i want him to keep kicking.

I BOUGHT ONE ONLINE, IT WAS SUPPOSE TO BE A PEACOCK EEL FROM THAILAND, IT TURNED OUT INSTEAD OF SENDING A $20 EEL THEY SENT A $200 EEL THAT I'M NOT SURE IS EVEN LEGAL IN THE US, THAT'S NOT THE PROBLEM. I DUNNO, I DONT WANT HIM TO DIE :(. HE'S A FRESHWATER MORAY EEL I THINK BUT HE LOOKS EXACTLY LIKE AN ELECTRIC EEL.

She says he has been like that from about a month after they went in, but thought his tail was supposed to be like that (she admits she doesn't know fish, and as they we're all fine at her brothers didn't think anything of it, but he had a MUCH larger tank and hiding spaces, these two had shared accom in a small sunken boat thingy) /span. Any help much appreciated! Thank you all who got back to me so fast!
