http://coastalkayakfishing.blogspot.com/2015/05/finding-right-kayak-fishing-pfd-astral.html
Kayak fishing in fresh, brackish, and salt water in Virginia, North Carolina, and beyond. Tuesday, May 12, 2015. Finding the Right Kayak Fishing PFD - Astral Seawolf and Ronny Fisher. I have been fishing since before I can remember, and fishing from a canoe or kayak for a majority of that time. Growing up in the 80’s, I wore your typical coast guard approved orange floatation device. While it served its primary purpose, it lacked one thing… comfort. This can lead to some very bad things. Boy was I wrong!

Coastal Kayak Fishing: July 2014
http://coastalkayakfishing.blogspot.com/2014_07_01_archive.html
Kayak fishing in fresh, brackish, and salt water in Virginia, North Carolina, and beyond. Wednesday, July 16, 2014. Pulling the Trigger on some Spades. As the seasons come and go, so does our extremely diverse fisheries in the South East. For me, the springtime allure of Specks, Reds, Flounder, and Bluefish fades to our harder fighting species as the mercury rises. For me, the summer means one thing. Its time for the CBBT! The Convict Gets Captured. Another target of the CBBT is the Triggerfish. Trig...

Kayak fishing in fresh, brackish, and salt water in Virginia, North Carolina, and beyond. Thursday, September 11, 2014. From my last post I was tallying my fish totals and points from within the previous trips and determined that I had broke even. Lots of cool catches, and other fun little mishaps were what memories were made of. The following is a continuance of the the last post. Trip 6 - This trip was one that was not planned, and just kind of snuck up on us. On a random Friday night, Jay Brooks.

Coastal Kayak Fishing: July 2013
http://coastalkayakfishing.blogspot.com/2013_07_01_archive.html
Kayak fishing in fresh, brackish, and salt water in Virginia, North Carolina, and beyond. Monday, July 8, 2013. Ive not been able to get out nearly as much as usual, so I thought, with everything going on why not make it a bender. I had the evening of the 3rd and all day on the 5th, 6th, and 7th of July to fish. I fished whenever I could, risking heat exhaustion, failing classes, and overexertion for this. Would I do it again? Tommy took this awesome pic! Not the smartest decision. Found some of these.

http://coastalkayakfishing.blogspot.com/2014_08_01_archive.html
Kayak fishing in fresh, brackish, and salt water in Virginia, North Carolina, and beyond. Monday, August 4, 2014. Paying the Fish Gods. Over the past few weeks my fishing has been sporadic at best. From my last post I had been getting into a decent class of Triggerfish, and some real solid bridge Spadefish. Between now and then I had to switch up my summer fishing style to inshore tourney mode. This led to some issues. Angler 0 - Fish Gods 1. Angler 0 - Fish Gods 0 (Draw). Angler 0 - Fish Gods 1. Solid w...

Kayak fishing in fresh, brackish, and salt water in Virginia, North Carolina, and beyond. Tuesday, April 7, 2015. Adventure Fishing World Championship (AFWC) #3 - Delacroix, LA. It’s all about what you know in good ole Delacroix". This quote became unbelievably apparent when 53 teams of two got the go ahead to open up their maps, and plan their day at the 3rd annual AFWC. And bring more insight as to what goes into this event. This wall went on for miles. A Dinnerbell JP Hmmershad fooled this red! After ...

Kayak fishing in fresh, brackish, and salt water in Virginia, North Carolina, and beyond. Wednesday, April 24, 2013. The Curse of Rev. Tickle. A good looking bait! A few lessons learned:. I should really pinch my barbs (even though I probably wont). I should get rid of the trebles and switch to J's or Circles (a bit more likely). Have a pair of cutters and a first aid kit on the water. Dont post the pic on Facebook unless you are willing to monitor the comments. Monday, April 22, 2013. Now everything wit...
