The Fitness Diaries: Back to it

I was right back on the horse this morning after a day off. I must say that a day off was much needed. I felt refreshed this morning and was excited to get back into my routine. But I must warn you, I wouldn't recommend anymore than a day off. It's just too risky. You could lose momentum. Today I resumed the Walk/Run training program, lifted weights for my upper body and did the ab video. I rewarded myself with one small chocolate covered coconut macaroon. It was delicious! Motivation, where are you? Motivation must have been on vacation. I haven't seen him for about a week. He showed up this morning for a 2 hour walk. It was hard for me to be mad at him when he forced me to walk for 2 hours. I'm glad he's back. But where did he go? My guess is that without a motivating factor such as a race, he took a hike. Somehow, Mid-life came out of nowhere. Motivation took a hike. Laziness appeared at my doorstep, and Complacency became my best friend. I'm Sheila, a 42 year old married, mother of two girls aged 7 and 4. I was, much to my surprise, diagnosed with premature hypertension and high cholesterol in May 2009.
