Battle of the Bulge: Update: Surveillance-versary!
http://wheniusedtolovemyboobs.blogspot.com/2011/06/update-surveillance-versary.html
Monday, June 20, 2011. So, I'm a big fat loser. My surveillance-versary was June 10th! I guess in the midst of not obsessing over my high-risk, I stopped thinking a little too much about it! So at the risk of being accused of having a defeatist attitude (again) here is what I have accomplished:. 1 I had one Mammogram. 2 I had one MRI. 3 I had one Biopsy. 4 I performed at least one self breast exam each month (probably 2 realistically). 6 I tested for the BRCA gene. 7 I told my story. 15 I joined a gym an...

Battle of the Bulge: It's my Surveillance-versary!
http://wheniusedtolovemyboobs.blogspot.com/2011/06/its-my-surveillance-versary.html
Saturday, June 18, 2011. So, I just realized, it's nearly July. July to many people is Independence Day, summer vacation, barbeque's, camping, 90 degree weather, boating, ridiculous air conditioning bills. To me July is my annual mammogram. And, because my first MRI (aka, January) came back with an area of suspicion that needed to be biopsied, I need to run the MRI again. Hopefully on the same day. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). BRCA1 the breast and ovarian cancer gene. BRCA Umbrella - BRCA Blogs, BRCA Forum, BRCA Support Group. Tuesday, 8 December 2009. 74 Strong, Weak. Weaker. Posted by More Than My Genes. I am an optimist, I see the good in people, I hope for the best, prepare for the worst and expect high standards. I didn't think that I would face any problems after, I expected not to, enough nervous energy was spent worrying about what was definitely going to happen to me immediately after surgery. So what's my beef? Docto...

For the first time there was no woman present, which I thought was odd but it didn't bother me and I was introduced to the young male assistant I assumed was a doctor in training. My comedy surgeon to young male Assistant: "Now this, this is a very tidy breast reconstruction! Rip the bugger off at the earliest opportunity!

Battle of the Bulge: Avoidance
http://wheniusedtolovemyboobs.blogspot.com/2011/11/avoidance.html
Wednesday, November 30, 2011. So, I haven't blogged in a while. Which is a good thing, because I wasn't allowing my risk to take over my thoughts and my life. Then I discovered my ex, THE ex's, wife (whom I adore) was diagnosed with BC AND is High Risk only to further learn she is BRCA . Talk about close to home. Then I became curious:. Is she on as strict of a surveillance regimen as I am? Did her doctors inform her of her options? Did they know the severity of the gene? December 13, 2011 at 10:59 AM.

She wanted to be a part of the event and together the three of us conquered the 5K (although walking in Detroit with 40,000 other participants, we likely walked at least 5 miles! Battle of the Bulge: March 2011
http://wheniusedtolovemyboobs.blogspot.com/2011_03_01_archive.html
Tuesday, March 1, 2011. How to explain your scars. Approximately every other month, every two months, someone posts on FORCE about how to explain all of this when you're dating. When do you tell, I think is the biggest question for everyone who is single and high risk. I think surgery or no surgery, anyone with scars faces the question even more. So when do you tell? I dont' know. How do you explain it when you do choose to? What do you say? Subscribe to: Posts (Atom). About the Boob Owner. Hereditary Br...

Battle of the Bulge: Call me, maybe!?!
http://wheniusedtolovemyboobs.blogspot.com/2012/08/call-me-back.html
Thursday, August 9, 2012. Call me, maybe! It's been 66 hours since I had my annual Mammogram/MRI. This is what the inside of my brain sounds like:. Why haven't they called me? Why does the hospital run so many commercials during the Olympics? Is it to keep reminding me that they haven't called? Is not calling yet good news or bad news? Google "Mammogram Photos." Should I call them? Why haven't you called me yet? Okay, phone's ringing. Not them. Why haven't they called me? August 9, 2012 at 8:15 AM. A (st...
