Visit the Tide Pools! Fitzgerald Marine Reserve is located in Moss Beach, CA, about 40 minutes south of San Francisco on Highway 1, or 15 minutes north of the city of Half Moon Bay. Fitzgerald Marine Reserve is in a no-take Marine Protected Area. No collecting of organisms, shells, rocks, driftwood, etc. is permitted. Please do not bring buckets to the reef. Dogs are not allowed. The reserve opens at 8 am; closing time varies seasonally and is posted. Click here for driving directions. Come at Low Tide.

Eat your heart out! Sunday, August 13, 2006. Twas a splendid weekend, well as good as it could be in the absence of Z. Tidepools Half Moon Bay ( Fitzgerald Marine Reserve. There was a whole family of seals out in the ocean swimming about fifty feet away from where we stood. We didn't miss the hermit crabs! I was worried the tide would be an impossible 3 feet by the time. We finally arrived, but it wasn't too bad. Next time, we're definetely wearing rubber boots! Lunch at the Ferry Building Farmer's Market.
