J3117 – Fall 2016. MMC 4936 – Fall 2016. June 1 Class Slides. Here ya go… June 1 – Infographics. June 2, 2016. Los Angeles Subway Map – Neon. This was the first neon piece I created, using a map of Los Angeles from the 1920s. The map was printed on metal, and the neon pieces intended to show real — and imagined — subway lines. It’s pretty neat to see up close, as the map has all sorts of neighborhoods I had never heard of before. Einstein Beach anyone? Or just check out my Etsy page. October 10, 2014.

J3117 – Fall 2016. MMC 4936 – Fall 2016. Start the Presses: Seeking an involved readership. Newspapers community newspapers especially have a duty to inform, entertain and engage. How well we do these three things is directly related to our value, our impact, and our stature. I think we do an excellent job in relation to the first two, but struggle with the third. Paradoxically, the best way to improve our engagement may be to eliminate the online commenting system. More on that in a bit. August 23, 2014.
