Five Acres Enough: July 2009

http://fiveacresenough.blogspot.com/2009_07_01_archive.html

The cultivation of small acreage in the heart of New Hampshire. This blog chronicles my personal goal of food accountability. The objective is to raise or trade locally for 70% of my family's food in the next five years. This is currently year 2 of 5. If every U.S. citizen ate just one meal a week (any meal) composed of locally and organically raised meats and produce, we would reduce our country's oil consumption by over 1.1 million barrels of oil every week. That's not gallons, but barrels. Of course, ...

That really burns my biscuits: I got a problem.

http://thatreallyburnsmybiscuits.blogspot.com/2010/08/i-got-problem.html

Tuesday, August 24, 2010. I got a problem. We have a dear elderly patient that is very hard to understand because of her thick accent. Our conversations are short but often hilarious. The other day she requested I give her a number for a store that sold walkers because the one that she had didn't have wheels in the back and stuck in place. She then requested I hurry because she had to go get her nails done. As I looked up the number I asked about getting her nails done. You're getting a manicure?

That really burns my biscuits: June 2014

http://thatreallyburnsmybiscuits.blogspot.com/2014_06_01_archive.html

Saturday, June 21, 2014. I think you are. Are you kidding me mama? I think you are. I think you are mama! Friday, June 20, 2014. I was touching the sea urchin and papa said, 'put the sea urchin down! And I did and I washed my hands.ssssshhhhsssssooooooo.and then I did. I did put the urch.the sea urchin down, ya know? Subscribe to: Posts (Atom). That really burns my biscuits. I'm not funny- I just never stop talking and sometimes get lucky. Passive-aggressive (and just plain aggressive) notes.

The Eventing Percheron: March 2010

http://eventing-draft.blogspot.com/2010_03_01_archive.html

Friday, March 19, 2010. Gradually, then Suddenly. Spring appears to have arrived in her typical fashion, gradually then suddenly. The garlic and other bulbs are up and we're getting sunny, 60 F degree days. Not much to complain about, really. And so a curious thing happened. I rode Brego two days in a row: a rare feat not seen since last November. And somehow in that time, our rides turned from casual hacks to Working With A Purpose. Links to this post. Monday, March 1, 2010. Cross-post: Wind Storm 2010.

That really burns my biscuits: a small wedding budget and 18 days left!

http://thatreallyburnsmybiscuits.blogspot.com/2009/05/small-wedding-budget-and-18-days-left.html

Tuesday, May 12, 2009. A small wedding budget and 18 days left! I read a lot of wedding blogs. A LOT. It's my new thing. Along with looking at wedding photographers. I really enjoy it and have learned a lot but one thing that strikes me as strange is that even the budget weddings which I've read about can run to like 10 thousand bucks. That to me is insanity! How is that an inexpensive wedding? I'm so grateful to them for doing all of this for me. I don't know the first thing about wedding decorating...

Food for Founder: July 2009

http://foodforfounder.blogspot.com/2009_07_01_archive.html

Thursday, July 30, 2009. One is the Loneliest Number. Sunday, July 26, 2009. David is back at Farcical Farm now, hanging out with the gang and harvesting food from the garden in the midsummer heat. He is happy to report that Tonka is doing just fine after his few days of hot feet and careful movement. Can you hear my sigh of relief? But it's still kind of nice to know that we might be able to sustain ourselves for a couple of weeks if push came to shove. Tuesday, July 14, 2009. Friday, July 10, 2009.

Food for Founder: March 2009

http://foodforfounder.blogspot.com/2009_03_01_archive.html

Tuesday, March 31, 2009. How Much are Those Creatures out the Window? Sometimes David and I muse about how rich we would be if not for the menagerie at Farcical Farm. The mortgage could be paid down, the vehicles could be upgraded and we could travel wherever and whenever we wanted. It sounds kind of nice in theory, but mostly awful. I have mentioned before. At this stage FFF gets about 100 readers daily. If this information helps even one of you to protect your computer and yourself it will be worth...

Thursday, March 19, 2009. Wild Garlic and Grilled Shrimp. With all the beautiful weather around here the last couple of days, it's been hard to focus on anything but getting outside and enjoying ourselves. Fortunately, we've been able to shrug off some of our responsibilities and head out for lots of long walks to enjoy the mild temperatures and budding growth. Spring, of course, is also the time for inspiration and planning. While some friends. Would certainly not like! With it's heady garlic/onion smel...

http://thatreallyburnsmybiscuits.blogspot.com/2010_08_01_archive.html

Tuesday, August 24, 2010. The way our office works when we bill medicare is that the money goes to the patient and it is then their responsibility to bring it in. It's complicated and boring to explain and not so important so I'll move on:. She said, "Oh no I always bring them in right away.". Bookkeepers and their figures- from an old male patient's perspective. She doesn't have the figure of a bookkeeper. None of ya'll have figures of bookkeepers.". I got a problem. You're getting a manicure? I'm not f...
