fiveandaquarter: JP Morgen circa 1995

http://fiveandaquarter.blogspot.com/2011/07/jp-morgen-circa-1995.html

Saturday, July 9, 2011. JP Morgen circa 1995. This machine's definitely got some cool features but I especially like the stamped-out, steel fork. I know JP Morgen could really ride a bike fast, but for me this is the ultimate bike for leisurely cruises through the mountains - the rougher the better. Maybe I need to ride it more to learn how to ride it hard. It definitely has some unique characteristics. Frame: JP Morgen ca. 1995. Fork: JP Morgen w/suspended stem. Bars: Cook Brothers Titanium. http://fiveandaquarter.blogspot.com/2011/06/1976-79-marin-style-klunker.html

Friday, June 3, 2011. That is so freaking authentic. A stunning example of a 70's Marin bike. That bike is Repack ready and state of the art @ 1976." - Charlie Kelley, one of the founders of the sport. Sure is fun to ride! That is right on the money! FYI: Porkchop BMX has the Preston Petty Hex grips from the 70s in RED that would be INSANE on that thing. Joe put em on his Breezer #1, so you know they dont suck. Nice job. Delivering fully restored, turnkey vintage mountain bikes. Monday, March 30, 2015. 1991 Steve Potts CCR. The WTB Ti bar came in days before Keyesville and was really the icing on an already pretty tasty cake. This is one of my first Suntour XC-PRO equipped bikes, and either I'm not really good at setting up that specific brand of drivetrain or there is a reason it went out of production. I did eventually get it running, but was never really impressed with the overall performance. Posted by Martin K.

Second Spin Cycles: 1991 Johnny O'Mara Yeti ARC - full photo shoot

Delivering fully restored, turnkey vintage mountain bikes. Monday, August 10, 2015. 1991 Johnny O'Mara Yeti ARC - full photo shoot. I've shown the bike here already, but wanted to take the opportunity to take some nicer photos and do the bike and build justice. The bike just screams early 90s racing; long stem, latest suspension tech, some anodized bling foreshadowing the days yet to come. Cook Bros cranks were all the rage with Yeti prior to the arrival of John Grafton and all his fancy wares. 1991 John...

Delivering fully restored, turnkey vintage mountain bikes. Monday, November 10, 2014. 1990 Klein Attitude ride report. It dawned on me a couple weeks ago that I've had about eight 1990 Attitudes come through my garage, and yet I have never actually ridden one. Luckily I was just about to put the finishing touches on a wonderful example for my brother and so I decided to give it a spin, and then another. I really miss having a Klein in my lineup. Delivering fully restored, turnkey vintage mountain bikes. Monday, July 27, 2015. 1991 Yeti ARC - Johnny O'Mara (O'Show). Well, it seems that being the runner up remains the story of my vintage mountain bike collecting career. First it was the (supposedly) Tinker backup Storm Adroit and now the O'Show test/training or backup race bike Yeti ARC. Well, might as well own it. Delivering fully restored, turnkey vintage mountain bikes. Sunday, May 24, 2015. The future of vintage mountain bike scene. You know what's gonna happen with Hip-Hop? Whatever's happening with us. If we smoked out, Hip-Hop is gonna be smoked out. If we doin alright, Hip-Hop is gonna be doin alright. So, is all of this sustainable? Are we in a bubble? Does it really matter? There is no simple answer to any of those questions - well, except maybe the last one. But that's mostly a personal issue anyway.

Delivering fully restored, turnkey vintage mountain bikes. Friday, December 19, 2014. 1987 Steve Potts Signature. This is quite possibly one of the loudest and most ostentatious Potts ever to come out of Marin. What Potts would be complete without a drop bar setup? Again, this one was too small for me so I can't really get a feel for the ride, but it is unusual. WTB Grease Guard hubs with Sepecialized quick releases, a very appropriate look for that era of bike. Posted by Martin K. IRD macaroni stems is ...
