After always wanting to try motorcycle racing, a very good friend of mine (Steve @ Raceways Motorcycles in Stevenage) told me that forgotten era racing was a cheap way in - and I didn’t take much convincing. £400 later and I’d got myself a donor bike from eBay, a 1985 Yamaha FJ1100 that had been stored in a barn for the last two years - and smelled like it! I didn’t know what I’d gotten myself into. 1985 Yamaha FJ1100 with 42000 miles on the clock - pretty much standard apart from the XJR end cans.

The NG Road Racing website. Is great to see lap by lap how the races went, together with lap time progression. Go to the site and click on Diary/Results/Entry Forms , then click on the Results and Reports links for the race in question to see more details. A typical weekend sees me in 5 races:. 1) Pre-Injection: Qualifying Race for track position (Sat). 2) Pre-Injection: Championship Race (Sat). 3) Open Newcomers: Championship Race (Sat or Sun). 4) Pre-Injection: Qualifying Race for track position (Sun).

Thanks to Raceways Motorcycles (Stevenage). Again for working on the bike between races and replacing the gearbox to fix the worrying grinding from first gear - that’s the third, and hopefully the last, time that the engine has been apart this year so they must be getting sick of working on it! Last years race at Mallory was rained off so I’d only raced there once in 2011, but despite the rain on Friday night the forecast was looking good for the weekend. I was 2. Getting to Anglesey took 6 and a half hours so it is a long old drive, but once there it is worth it as the track and scenery is great, plus they have new pit garages now (if you can get in them - I couldn’t! Time to get a few more laps in than last year, when I crashed out of 4. Place on the 1. Lap of the first race - see the pics here. This time all went well. In P1 there were 37 riders out on a slightly damp track. I was 3. Fastest in my group with a fastest lap of 1m 22.80s. So, after a bit of a tent...

NGRRC - Jorge - FJ Racer. Welcome to my site. I race in the NGRRC (NG Road Racing’s) Pre-Injection series (for pre-2001 normally aspirated bikes) on my 1985 Yamaha FJ1100. For those who don’t know the FJ1100 is a 1980’s sports-tourer - see in here how it fares against much more modern bikes! 2013 is my third season with the NGRRC. I placed 5th in the 2011 Pre-Injection championship and 4. As for the name Jorge - don’t ask! GSXR SRAD Front Wheel and Discs. R6 Rear Wheel and Disc. GSXR SRAD Forks and Yokes.
