The history of Flair. Flair IV is the latest in the Flair dynasty of cruising/racing yachts owned by Master Mariner Jim Macgregor. Always based at Poole Yacht Club, the Flair name was established in 1985 with the original Flair, a Contessa 27 (latterly MG27). Two years later Flair II, an MG335, arrived to became the longest servant of the Macgregor team. Flair III arrived in 1998 and began a relationship with Elan yachts. The Fastnet Challenge for the Meningitis Research Foundation. Flair IV competed in the 2003 RORC Rolex Fastnet Race. Race, chartered by a crew sailing on behalf of the Meningitis Research Foundation.
