I’ve spent the past week grappling with some major yuckiness: fever, cough, stuffy nose, chills–you name it, I had it. I lost my voice last Saturday, and it has yet to come back. One student asked me to explain. I lost it. Another demanded that I go back there and get it back because, as he put it, “You sound weird.”. First graders: so cute, and so brutally honest.

A Cup of Joe with Jess. Enjoying Life's Unexpected Blessings. I decided to ask my kids how I make them feel loved! Joshua said, “I feel it in my heart, my heart just feels loved, and when you call me loverlips and make me mash potatoes.”. Maddie (the middle child) said, “When you buy me things I feel loved.”. Mercedes said, “Love is something I can’t find.”. Joseph is too little to say but he loves to give hugs and kisses. Sometimes he will even hit you then hug you! Life is never dull over here folks!
