Wednesday, December 29, 2010. White Christmas in Southern Virginia. James, Lulu, and I headed down to Southern Virginia to spend Christmas with my family at my parent's house. Tuesday, July 12, 2011. Life is what happens when you are making other plans. Fits and starts. The story of my life. Just after I posted about my summer reading list (I just finished the third novel in the Blue Bloods series) I had a work trip to Charleston, SC. Beautiful city, much bigger than I expected. But they had a Mellow Mushroom. And drove up Grandfather Mountain. Itself to walk across the mile high bridge. We were actually able to get the boys into kilts! I've been trying for two years now!

Monday, August 29, 2011. The House of Bartlett-Kerr was able to retain power and cable throughout the storm! Other than losing a branch from our Butterfly Bush there was no damage. Just a soggy back yard. Yesterday was so beautiful that we turned off the A/C and opened up the windows to let the last breezes of Irene cool and refresh the house.
