Flat Bottom Flowers: In the beginning...
http://flatbottomflowers.blogspot.com/2015/05/in-beginning.html
The pursuit of a garden- one pot at a time. Sunday, May 10, 2015. One carton of many filled with plants. This is the weekend that I typically do my big shopping for the garden. I bought more than I have in past years because we had a bitter winter, which killed some of the plants that typically survive the season. Well, that's how it goes. I just scrubbed out those pots and readied them for something new and interesting. In the beginning it's chaos. Bookshelf: Container Gardening Books. I became a contai...
Flat Bottom Flowers: Let's Review: Read the Label
http://flatbottomflowers.blogspot.com/2015/05/lets-review-read-label.html
The pursuit of a garden- one pot at a time. Tuesday, May 26, 2015. Let's Review: Read the Label. The label will also tell you the dimensions of the plant when it reaches full size, which can guide you in selecting the proper size pot. It will also tell you the plant's hardiness zone. There's good information here. Flowers aren't everything. I've learned to appreciate interesting foliage, which can often be beautiful all on its own. So read that label and give your plant the best possible chance to thrive.
Flat Bottom Flowers: October 2014
http://flatbottomflowers.blogspot.com/2014_10_01_archive.html
The pursuit of a garden- one pot at a time. Monday, October 13, 2014. Bookshelf: Container Gardening Books. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom). I became a container gardener out of necessity. When we moved into our townhouse, there were no flowerbeds in which to plant all the wonderful shrubs, perennials, and annuals that I envisioned. But we had a small deck so I figured if it can work in the ground then why not in pots? Search Flat Bottom Flowers. Herbs of all kinds. Red Abyssinian Banana Plant.
Flat Bottom Flowers: Let's Review: Pots
http://flatbottomflowers.blogspot.com/2015/05/lets-review-pots.html
The pursuit of a garden- one pot at a time. Sunday, May 17, 2015. Terracotta pots are beautiful but require more frequent watering. My garden has an array of containers- from terracotta pots (see photo). To wine crates to pots made of lightweight composite materials. You should consider several things including aesthetics, weight, and size. I prefer an eclectic mix of pots, which is why you'll see such a variety in my pictures. It's part aesthetic preference and part experiment. May 19, 2015 at 7:13 AM.

GARDENS BY T: GIVERNY AND MONET
http://gardensbyt.blogspot.com/2012/05/giverny-and-monet.html
Sunday, May 27, 2012. Giverny, a village in the province of Normandy is about 50 miles northwest of Paris. O n day two we traveled by motor coach to my most anticipated destination of the tour, Monet's Garden in Giverny. We passed fields of bright yellow canola. Drove along the Seine, saw a barge. And marveled at the quaintness of the homes and churches in the small villages. Canola field and tree infested with mistletoe. Monet's Giverny residence was a former cider farm. Sights and Sounds of The Garden.
GARDENS BY T: VERSAILLES

Saturday, June 16, 2012. In direct contrast to the bucolic setting of Monet's residence, we next visited Versailles. Versailles was formerly a hunting lodge, built by Louis XIII in 1624. Louis XIV expanded the hunting lodge into one of the largest palaces in the world. The Palace covers 37,000 acres and at one time had 1400 fountains. View of garden from Hall of Mirrors. Monday, June 13, 2011. RANDOM SHOTS OF PEOPLE. Friday, April 22 was our last day in China. We left our hotel at 7:30 am to get ahead of rush hour traffic. It had rained overnight so the streets were wet and the sky was overcast. Our motor coach took us to the station to catch the Maglev Train which would transport us to Pudong International Airport. Here are some facts about the Maglev Train:. The Maglev travels at a top speed of about 430 km (267 miles) per hour. This is our last full day in China.
GARDENS BY T: January 2010
http://gardensbyt.blogspot.com/2010_01_01_archive.html
Saturday, January 30, 2010. Wow, it's so difficult to get back into the swing of things after the holidays. Thanksgiving and Christmas were so enjoyable. I loved spending time with family. We talked, we played games, we opened gifts, we laughed, we cooked, we ate and we ate, and we ate. Is it possible to have a get together without a table laden with food in our midst? Now it's the end of January. It's back to work, it's back to the gym, it's back to eating sensibly again. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom).
GARDENS BY T: July 2010
http://gardensbyt.blogspot.com/2010_07_01_archive.html
Saturday, July 17, 2010. I mentioned in my last post that I'm leafing through old gardening magazines. I'm coming across loads of useful information. One of my gardening friends who lives in the country happened to mention how much she dreads encountering a snake. The next day, I read a tidbit about repelling animals.for snakes, ring your garden with sisal rope. Snakes won't crawl across it. Sunday, July 11, 2010. More on Bird of Paradise. Wednesday, July 29, 2009. My summer bulbs, which are mostly in containers, are beginning to bloom and I'm looking forward to the fantastic show they will present over the remainder of the growing season. I repotted most of the bulbs in the spring, nothing was labelled. I like surprises! The Morning Glories have started to bloom, so most days begin with a stroll around the garden, coffee cup in hand. Wednesday, July 22, 2009. Goldenrod grows along the roadside but I like using it as a nice backdrop for my...

The pursuit of a garden- one pot at a time. Sunday, August 16, 2015. In my May 17th post. I had a picture of a beautiful, square, Italian terracotta pot. Here's what I planted in it:.
