Tuesday, April 20, 2010. Florida Wild Life in the Parking Lot. As the weather get hotter, I will start parking in the back parking lot, because there are more trees. I park the Ranger under a tree, and set my lawn chair up in the bed, under my beach umbrella. (I use an umbrella, because a squirrel pooped on my head one time.) Tuesday, March 31, 2009. We had always stayed away from taking the canoe to Fort De Soto, because of the heavy boat traffic there. Since we're on vacation, Linda and I decided to give it a try. We were pleasantly surprised to find that they have a 2.5 mile canoe trail. Either no combustion motors or low wake in the area. It is not an area that the personal water craft people will be seen. Wednesday, April 15, 2009. Life Has Gone to the Birds. Walking to my car tonight I spied a woodpecker. (Actually there were 3 of them, but this one wasn't a shy as the others.) I put down my bag, and retrieved the camera. As I was pulling it out of the bag, Kim drove by and asked, "is everything OK? How couldn't it be OK. I'm a bird brain. There are birds everywhere around work. Everything is wonderful when I'm outside. I like this one. The little guy looks like he is going to take a nap.

Wednesday, September 30, 2009. When we drove across the country, Linda didn't see a thing. I always kid her about not seeing anything. I guess I'll have to stop that. Tonight I arrived home from work, and as I got out of the truck, I heard Linda say, "come back here.". I thought to myself, "what's happened in the back yard, now? Saturday, February 7, 2009. Trip to the Suncoast Seabird Sanctuary. The name is sort of a misnomer. They take care of more than just seabirds. You can see hawks, owls and wood peckers. Recently they took in a Bald Eagle that was shot in Seminole. Unfortunately, they weren't able to save the bird. Wednesday, January 27, 2010. It Stinks Out There. We has some very cold weather a few weeks ago. My Bird of Paradise had just bloomed, and now it's brown. The neighbor had a beautiful palm that I hopes recovers in the spring. But the worst are the fish in Lake Seminole. The wind blows off the lake and all you can smell are the dead fish. Thursday, February 11, 2010. I was on my way into the office after break, when KD met me at the entrance. "There are Sandhill Cranes out front." I think that's what she said. I only slept a few hours last night, and I had to have KD repeat herself. Yes, I had my camera, for the first time all week. We had to make a dash for the office to grab it.
