Florida Support Service Providers. Florida residents over the age of 18 who have been declared legally blind and are Deaf or Hard of Hearing. We train, match, and provide SSPs to the Deaf-Blind consumers in the state of Florida. Support Service Providers who interpret the environment and become the 'eyes' and/or 'ears' for the Deaf-Blind Floridians In the community and on the job. They may help with transportation. The mission of the Florida Deaf-Blind Association (FDBA) is to enhance independence through economic and social opportunities for all people who are Deaf-Blind in Florida. This will be accomplished through education and advocacy for people who are deaf-blind in their community. FDBA will educate the general public about deaf-blindness so that all Floridians may better understand the needs of the Deaf-Blind community in order to lend their support.

The more DB individuals and other supporters join FDBA, the stronger the organization will look to the government when we ask for its support for much needed programs, such as SSP programs, transportation, and DB interpreting. Membership is for anyone who is DEAF-BLIND. Membership is for anyone who is SIGHTED and is a supporter, such as a friend, a family member, or a caring person. Membership is for anyone who is DEAF-BLIND and is attending school as long as he/she is 23 years old or under.
