Saturday, April 4, 2009. Operation Salad: Take 1. I have a keen recollection of a conversation that transpired on a houseboat shanty on the Thames that my f. Friend Somerset was raving about the salads she was growing in pots in her garden. Fresh lettuce, she enthused, was the most glorious thing on a hot summer's day. When I moved to an apartment with a roof deck last fall, this salad concept remained at the back of my mind. Mited amount of gardening experience. Packets - chives, basil, re. Nly 98 cents...

Sunday, September 14, 2008. There is something about the sudden shift towards fall - the slight nip in the air, the rustle of drying leaves overhead, drained somewhat of their bright green color - that makes me feel a little frantic to preserve what's left of summer. Summer's bounty, that is. Blackberries and blue, which were for a moment so plentiful, are nowhere to be seen. One recipe that I am particularly keen to try is apple-celery-mountain honey, which sounds intriguingly alpine. Article #4 green h...

Thursday, May 29, 2008. Witness flourishing - and flowering! A clever - and I think chic - way to stake tomatoes. . A little bit of this and that - fennel, lettuce, red onions. The soil is dry but rich and the sun is so strong! Sicily is the Southern-most point in Europe - in fact, much of it is further South than Tunis, Tunisia. Saturday, May 3, 2008. I scream, you scream. Word on the street is that. Blue Marble Ice Cream. 160;of Boerum Hill is due to start making appearances at. Friday, May 2, 2008.

Pad Krapow Moo – spicy stir-fried pork with Thai holy basil. June 23, 2009. 0160; Chop them all up together.  I also used a handful of bell pepper cut into strips,. They made the dish prettier at the end. I used about a pound (500g) or ground pork. So you get your well-seasoned wok nice and hot, add just a tiny bit of oil. Ok, in goes the chopped up garlic and chilli first. 0160;Yes, they go first.  Wont they get all burnt, you asked? Now you throw in the ground pork. 0160;What, you dont have fish sauce?

Fledgling Fiction – a newby writer

Welcome to my new adventure… dabbling in writing. I have enjoyed the occasional creative writing outlet, but have never done it on a regular basis. The Finch Nest

Monday, December 10, 2012. Here's a quick update on the big adventure:. During this time of transition, we are staying with my hubby's mom, so the kids are enjoying time with their grandmother. For me, I'm just ready to be in my own home, in our own routine. I have taken tons of photos during this process, but haven't had much time at the computer to get them organized and ready to share. I'm planning to, though, so check back soon! Friday, September 28, 2012. Apparently, I'm not a very good blogger.

Peering over the edge of the bridge near where you park, I could see a grayling below straight away. Alway promising! Many, many choice words were spoken at that point!
