Fleur de Food

Sunday, August 30, 2015. We added a few ingredients to the recipe at the very last minute. My husband said, "I would definitely order this at a restaurant" and gave it a thumb's up. YES! Very easy to make - just takes some time to cook, but hey, any recipe where you can use a crock pot is great, right? 3-4 chicken breasts (we used thigh meat, came out tender too). 8 ounce Philadelphia cream cheese. 1/3 cup sliced jalapeños (no juice). 1 teaspoon garlic powder. Chopped green onions (we added to recipe).

Fleur de Food: Honey Sesame Chicken

http://fleurdefood.blogspot.com/2015/06/honey-sesame-chicken.html

Sunday, June 28, 2015. Special note - I combined this dish with a low flavor rice/quinoa package (purchased at Sam's). We have used this package before and found that it doesn't have much taste - but it was a good combo with the recipe I used, because the sauce was so strong. 4 boneless skinless chicken breast (and thighs). 1/2 cup low-sodium soy sauce. 1/4 Cup hoisin sauce (maybe cut this in half? 1 Teaspoon toasted sesame oil. 2 Cloves garlic, minced. 6 Tablespoons cold water. 2 Tablespoons corn starch.

Fleur de Food: Steak and Asparagus over Angel Hair Pasta

http://fleurdefood.blogspot.com/2015/08/steak-and-asparagus-over-angel-hair.html

Tuesday, August 18, 2015. Steak and Asparagus over Angel Hair Pasta. I found a recipe that I thought Greg would enjoy. We bought the ingredients and our little helper enjoyed assisting us in the kitchen:. 1 pound boneless skirt steak. 1/4 cup beef broth. 3 tablespoons Asian dumpling sauce (if you don't have this, use soy sauce). 1/4 teaspoon garlic powder. 1/4 teaspoon crushed red pepper flakes. 1 teaspoon brown sugar. 1 1/2 teaspoons sesame oil. 6 tablespoons olive oil. 4 cloves garlic, minced. Add 1 1/...

Fleur de Food: August 2013

http://fleurdefood.blogspot.com/2013_08_01_archive.html

Thursday, August 29, 2013. Crock Pot Mongolian Beef. My husband enjoys mongolian beef when we go to a Chinese restaurant. I came across a recipe that seemed easy and lately I've tried to a few Chinese recipes, so why not one more? I was a little disappointed with the meat. I thought it would fall apart tender, but it wasn't. Place onion, garlic, steak, green onions, soy, water, sugar, ginger and hoisin sauce in the slow cooker. Cook on low setting for 5 hours. Serve over Rice. Monday, August 26, 2013.

Fleur de Food: July 2013

http://fleurdefood.blogspot.com/2013_07_01_archive.html

Friday, July 26, 2013. My Mom and I took a Greek cooking class together. One part of the meal was a Greek salad. The instructor is part Greek, part Italian. She said, "When you go to a restaurant and order a Greek salad, it has a lot of lettuce on it. But a real Greek salad has NO lettuce." I was very happy about this, as I've never been a fan of lettuce. I will definitely be making this again in the future and for family gatherings :). Tip: If the dressing has too much "bite" to it, add a little more oil.

Saturday, April 24, 2010. This online book club was an inspiration by Holly Berardi. After Holly and Aleta O'Brien were emailing back and forth about books they were currently reading, Holly asked Aleta to create a blog where other family members and friends could participate and share in their enjoyment of the written word. And is an instructor for the New Orleans Beading Society. When she's not updating her personal blog. And trying new recipes. She is the author of "Fleur de Aleta". Jill @ Sneaky Momma.
