There are many sandbars to choose from and on this leg of the trip you will not encounter many other people. The bridge over Styx River at Wilcox Road signals the 2/3 mark of the Day trip. Saturday, July 17, 2010. We had a great time on the Styx River trip! The weather was extremely cooperative. It never rained a drop! This is a picture of the only rapid on the river, which happens to also be the only rapid in south Alabama! The "long trip" was no problem. After a slow start this morning I was afraid the four children we had with us would give out but they hung in there the whole time and had a blast. What a beautiful day. Will Mastin and his three girls are out. Here with Kelley and me!
