I couldn't afford the $1200 MRI (I'm pretty much maxed out on credit after paying it ALL off in June), so I did the $200 x-ray of his lower lumbar region. The x-ray showed no fracture (good! No sign of bone infection (better! And no sign of bony cancerous masses (best! They're fine...

Adventures in intermittant mania. MiniBraindrainage and other effluvium. Nov 27th, 2007 at 12:35 AM. I've spent the last week with a delightful upper respiratory something-or-other. My dear, darling singer friends. And Laura graciously agreed to spend Thanksgiving with me anyway, and I'm very grateful for it, especially since we all do a fair amount of choral work, and this just ain't the time of year to be getting sick. So far, everyone says they're feeling fine, for which, again, I'm quite grateful.

Adventures in intermittant mania. Oct 23rd, 2007. Goddamnit - I lost a day of work today because there's a fucking raccoon on the loose somewhere in the building where I teach in the Bronx. That's $120 that I won't have for groceries or bills. The really annoying thing is that I turned down a funeral in Hoboken tomorrow morning because I didn't want to overwhelm myself with work over the next two days.
