Thursday, June 7, 2012. Una Barca nel Bosco. Gaspare Torrente, in Una Barca nel Bosco. A Boat in the Forest) by Paola Mastrocola, is the son of a fisherman, a brilliant Latin student who grew up in a small island. His teachers insist he has a promising future ahead of him, so to Torino he moves with his Mother, leaving his father behind. Both of his parents sacrifice so much for him as they want him to have a better life than they did. But where The Perks of Being a Wallflower. Years pass and Gaspare and...

hibernian homme: April 2012
http://hibernianhomme.blogspot.com/2012_04_01_archive.html
Thursday, April 26, 2012. I could hear the creak of the floorboards! I wasn't rich of course, but could pay my bills. The library was filled with clever, bearded men with occhiali tartaruga, cardigans, famous artists and women with white streaks in their hair. What a misfortune to awaken. This library has been in my thoughts since daybreak. Sunday, April 22, 2012. So don't mind if I fall apart. Como, Bellagio, Barni and Barni. Castello di Verrazzano (one of the best places I've spent a week). The weather...

hibernian homme: December 2011
http://hibernianhomme.blogspot.com/2011_12_01_archive.html
Friday, December 30, 2011. A rose will bloom. And then will fade. If you had been at the great Stazione Centrale last night, an Art Deco masterpiece, you would have found me sunkissed, content and loaded down with shopping bags full of cheeses(yes it's true, Carrick), produce, speck, part of a gigantic panettone and other delights from my trip to the snowy Dolomites. They were spectacular, something impossible to capture on film.but I'll talk about that trip next year. If you had asked me then:. I'm sic...

hibernian homme: February 2012
http://hibernianhomme.blogspot.com/2012_02_01_archive.html
Thursday, February 9, 2012. Norman is the protagonist of the novel. By Frank Baker, and along with his friend Henry creates an older lady named Miss Hargreaves. The two of them were on vacation in Ulster and created her in the spur of the moment to pull the leg of a sexton. Many details were added to their 'little' lie, and much to their surprise, along came Miss Hargreaves in the flesh to their town. With a splash of magical realism, this book was so much better than I'd expected! And how about a clip,...

hibernian homme: January 2012
http://hibernianhomme.blogspot.com/2012_01_01_archive.html
Monday, January 30, 2012. Not so in Italy. Travelling two and half hours from Milan I find myself in Madonna di Campiglio, in Trentino Alto-Adige. The people look more German and sound different, an almost sing-song accented dialect, eat unique cheeses and speck from their valley, enjoy porcini mushrooms straight from the wood tossed with fatto-in-casa tagliatelle, and need I mention how different the landscape is from the smoggy plane of Milan? I stayed with some friends there (over a. Strolling down th...

hibernian homme: May 2012
http://hibernianhomme.blogspot.com/2012_05_01_archive.html
Tuesday, May 29, 2012. Stumbled across this lovely birch forest the other day on the blog of Geneviève Bjargardóttir. An Icelandic girl live in Göteborg, Sweden. Her images are so transporting you can almost smell the moss and fresh air. The fact she uses an analog makes it all the more otherworldly. Perfect to look at if you're reading Tove Jansson's. Thursday, May 24, 2012. Wednesday, May 16, 2012. A Thursday meeting in Venice. Monday, May 14, 2012. And again I beg, why wasn't I born earlier? He now is...

hibernian homme: September 2011
http://hibernianhomme.blogspot.com/2011_09_01_archive.html
Monday, September 26, 2011. By this time tomorrow, I'll be in flight (towards Washington DC at least) to my new home on the Continent! Just typing that out makes me feel a little lightheaded. I'm packing up my things at the moment, and not only am I the biggest procrastinator, hence the blog post, but I want to pack the most impractical things, ie: too many heavy books, my crystal champagne glasses, the imaginary Limoges, my Danish armchair, etc. etc. Who wants to pack socks? Monday, September 19, 2011.

hibernian homme: Varúð
http://hibernianhomme.blogspot.com/2012/06/varu.html
Friday, June 8, 2012. Shall we let this lovely video welcome us into the weekend? The good news is Sigur Rós is coming to Verona, so I'll finally be able to go see them. The bad news is no one I know here knows who they are. A solution must be found! Better start making some mixtapes stat! June 11, 2012 at 10:03 AM. Thank you for posting this beautiful piece of music. They sound Irish but I know better. I believe they are Islandic. Hope you manage to take in the concert and convince friends to join you.

hibernian homme: March 2012
http://hibernianhomme.blogspot.com/2012_03_01_archive.html
Thursday, March 29, 2012. It's a luxury to be understood. Where in the world have you been? Don't you care about us anymore! Of course I do and even if I wish I spent this last (gulp) month in the room above, I was in reality just busy with work studying and daily life. I also recieved about 400 bills in five days, so it was touch and go for a bit. Enough about me.How are. Wouldn't you love to lock yourself in the room above for a month with a steady supply of tea and see what happens? In my opinion it s...
