A blog about knitting, life, diy and maybe some tai chi. Monday, 1 June 2009. This is posted in a whisper, because Owen is asleep! Anyway, I am here to announce that about 3 weeks ago I rediscovered the will to knit. More to the point, I joined up two thoughts in a logical and coherent way and that sort of enabled me to see the root of my loss of knitting mojo. The dilemmas involved are enourmous - do I knit for the baby, only to have to make it in acrylic and have him grow out of it in 10 days? And then...

Flutter-by: Currently blocking.....

http://www.flutterbyknits.blogspot.com/2009/01/currently-blocking.html

A blog about knitting, life, diy and maybe some tai chi. Tuesday, 13 January 2009. First off, being 41 weeks pregnant is not conducive to having lots of knitting mojo, or staying power. I keep starting things, frogging them after about 3 rows and then having another nap (and/or some more chocolate icecream). I am no longer enjoying pregnancy, I am sore bored and very very grumpy, but nothing seems to be happening. Then in order to make the gusset fit above the bottom pattern, I needed to add a few rows t...

A blog about knitting, life, diy and maybe some tai chi. Saturday, 29 November 2008. Well - several christmas presents have been made and mostly dispatched! I'm 99% certain that my brother doesn't even know I have a blog, so I thought I'd show his on here even though it is well before christmas. I asked my Husband to kindly do the modelling, when we went for a walk a couple of weeks ago, in Moniak woods, which really are very nice if you happen to be in the area. 45mm and 5mm Knitpicks. A blog about knitting, life, diy and maybe some tai chi. Sunday, 1 March 2009. This has taken a lot of effort and perseverence, but I have finally finished casting off! But it's a lovely pattern, the yarn (Posh Yarn Eva Laceweight) is fantastic and I really really want to wear it. Plus I feel pleased that having a baby hasn't totally interrupted my ability to knit complicated lacy things. That said, my next project is going to be in thicker yarn and considerably smaller and easier to see progress.

Parklife – week 42. Parklife – week 43 →. Like a bird on a wire. November 24, 2014. Well, more like several hundreds or thousands of birds on wires and girders and supports, coming in to roost below the pier. They dance in the sky and put on the most amazing show from Autumn to Spring. And all just minutes away from my home. Lucky me! One thought on “ Like a bird on a wire. November 27, 2014 at 9:19 pm. Parklife – week 46. The final knits of 2014. December 30, 2014. There was some knitting going on in November and December, even if I never posted about it. The most significant thing was this lovely fellow, known as Bedwyr the boogie-woogie brontosaurus. He was knitted for a friend’s baby nephew’s Christmas present, and it was a bit difficult to hand him over. This chap had a lot of personality. There was also a cowl. Most handsomely modelled by a penguin (and why not, I ask you.). 4 pairs of socks.

A brief musical interlude. Parklife – week 46 →. Parklife – week 44 & 45. December 14, 2014. A rather paltry selection today considering this is meant to be two weeks’s worth. I forgot to post last weekend, and then this week was almost a write-off due to the weather. I don’t mind the cold, but when it’s cold and damp and and raining and windy then I tend to give in and get the bus. A brief musical interlude. Parklife – week 46 →. Anarchy on my needles. Monday, 13 July 2015. Back to school: banana and vanilla breakfast shake. Three tiny cups for three tiny kids. As we rush out the door today and face the reality of being 'back to school' I thought you might like this quick breakfast shake recipe. This shake is a creamy and filling addition to be paired with a wholesome breakfast for kids and or busy mamas. 1 tablespoon vanilla yoghurt. 2 tablespoons traditional oats. 1 large, ripe banana, peeled and chopped. Drizzle of pure vanilla extract. Are still do...
