Chatter and Chopsticks: How ke ai!
http://glover-jessi.blogspot.com/2012/05/okay-time-for-blog-catch-up-since.html
Sunday, May 6. Okay, time for blog catch up since Tuesday.whoops. During the day Monday through Wednesday we're just at the hospital doing. The fun stuff happens outside of the hospital however! I already posted the hilariously embarrassing video of "The Americans" dancing at the baseball game, that was an event. Baseball is a pretty big deal here, but unlike the American version where fans are subdued and silent during a pitch, Asians go crazy! Seriously, we feel like celebrities here! Means "So cute" i...

Chatter and Chopsticks: Acupuncture? Don't mind if I do!
http://glover-jessi.blogspot.com/2012/05/acupuncture-dont-mind-if-i-do.html
Wednesday, May 9. Don't mind if I do! We're headed off to Taipei early tomorrow morning, so this will be a short post, but I wanted to post my Chinese medicine pictures! On Tuesday we were given a tour of the Traditional Chinese Medicine building and had the opportunity to try some therapies! We tried acupuncture and cupping (or bakwan). It was super interesting listening to the doctor explain everything and then actually feel it do what he said! We were pretty skeptical at first though:.

Chatter and Chopsticks: Handsome Agong!
http://glover-jessi.blogspot.com/2012/05/handsome-agong.html
Monday, May 7. My goal is not to get as behind as last week. we'll see how far my resolve gets me. Today I went out with home care hospice again which was really fun! His sweet family was so excited and they gave me a drink and a giant Snoopy stuffed animal then took pictures of us. I promise I'm not a super creeper. My nurse was making a kissing face so I did it too, then she stopped. My favorite is just my face compared to his face:). Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). Dont mind if I do!

Chatter and Chopsticks: June 2010
http://glover-jessi.blogspot.com/2010_06_01_archive.html
Wednesday, June 30. Classes have started which occupies our mornings, and although homework should probably be requiring our afternoons and evenings also we do far less than we should. But hey, we're in LONDON. It's not like we're here on a study. Abroad or anything. I'm taking a Jane Austen class in which we analyze her novels and get sent to museums to look at fascinating pictures of her such as:. No, they probably would not. Well, maybe if Anna gets famous someday, c'mon Ann! I am assigned to one in Z...

Chatter and Chopsticks: July 2010
http://glover-jessi.blogspot.com/2010_07_01_archive.html
Saturday, July 31. Old York, Not New York. Thursday and Friday were spent in York. The city was founded by the Romans in 71 AD, then went through a series of different rulers: the Angles, Vikings, and Normans. So pretty much it’s really old. We started the day as a group traveling to Fountain’s Abbey. A Cistercian monastery founded in 1132. The ruins are well preserved and the grounds are beautiful! I even got some good pictures doing tree pose and holding up an arch. Haha, I know, funny name right?

Chatter and Chopsticks: I'm Officially Asian.
http://glover-jessi.blogspot.com/2012/05/im-officially-asian.html
Thursday, May 17. I became a true Asian last weekend. I peed in only squatters for around 4 days. I must say, my aim has improved! In other news, last weekend we traveled to Taipei and Hualien! They were both incredible places! Because I'm tired and need to get to bed before our next weekend trip tomorrow, I'll mostly just post pictures with captions. We stayed in a hostel called the Leopard Garden. EVERYTHING was leopard print. They also fit 10 people in very tiny room by utilizing all space. Church on ...

Chatter and Chopsticks: April 2012
http://glover-jessi.blogspot.com/2012_04_01_archive.html
Monday, April 30. Seaweed and Fried Chicken! Day 1 in the hospital was great! The Taiwanese nurses are hilarious! We all woke up around 4 am because we're not adjusted to this time zone; it's going to take another couple days. We walked through the POURING rain to the Chi Mei Hospital (it was funny to see we got less stares with our colorful, vibrant rain jackets on then we do without them, we blended in much better! The nurses I worked with were named Chen and Chun (try sorting that one out! I may not s...
