Flight: May 2015

My life in the sky. Over the past two weeks I have completed wiring up the shed's lights and power outlets, getting bits and pieces where I want them, and varnishing the wing over several nights prior to forming the plywood leading edge and enclosing the "box" forward of the spar. My life in the sky. 1992 training area elevator ride. So far this blog kept a chronicle of events from the time it started, 2006 or so, especially as a builder's log for my eventually to be completed Corby Starlet. But there are a few notable experiences I would like to share that occurred before, in this case a long time before, I started the blog. I was pretty much on my own there. It was practice to remain on the Wagga ATC tower freq and call entering and exiting the TA, so anyone there would know...

My life in the sky. I can't believe I left it so long, but at last I've started aligning the ribs on the spar prior to gluing. You'd think I could have done that ages ago, but no. Got cold feet. Thought the worst might happen. Too busy etc etc. Meanwhile back at the fuselage I'm still stuck on the Jabiru firewall dimensions. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom).

My life in the sky. Gluing Firewall frame together. Anyway part way there. Be a whole lot more finished when I marry with the front end of the fuse and can unclamp that part of the job after more than a year! Did this while listening to King Crimson "Red" album. Kicker. Much better to concentrate on gluing than having TV in the background. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom). Gluing Firewall frame together.

This is going to be a blog following me in my adventures as a Flight Nurse in the USAF! Going to start with my deployment to Afghanistan in September, 2010. Come along for the ride! I am on alert today. Getting a lot done. Slept in a bit with the baby, went to the gym, cleaned the house, lunch, work, and gathering deployment items. Now we are under 2 weeks. Wait. wasn't it just 17 days? It was only 85 and low humidity. The clouds helped as well. Did someone drop out? He said "No, it is just that she is o...

My life in the sky. But I have an excuse! I've been living and working in Canberra for the ADF and spending very little time at home. So little that we sold the farm (too much work) and bought an idyllic suburban block by the sea. It has a single space garage! Two coats forward and one coat behind. Second coat behind after the box is formed and the wing is turned horizontal to make the ailerons and add the control cable hardware. Varniish is West System eopxy varnish 105 with 25% 205 hardener. In 1992 I ...
