The old wisdom about chicken soup being good for a cold is true! Bones are also rich in amino acids and minerals. The amino acid glycine helps your body to detoxify and supports digestion. This is one of the reasons bone broth is so good for healing Leaky Gut Syndrome! Yuk, ick, NO! And why is this my favorite thing about bone broth? You may be th...

Saturday, July 13, 2013. The Incredible Edible.or maybe not. Eggs are one of the many foods that have been the subject of great controversy over the last 30 years or so (maybe even before, but that's as far back as my memory goes). From commercials touting the health benefits of the incredible edible egg, to doctors warning about the dangers of cholesterol, ( For more on the cholesterol myth, read this article by Dr. Joseph Mercola. The answer is, yes and no. When we went to The Well. To find a farmer cl...

Our Heritage: Farm Fresh Dinner
http://kafkaheritage.blogspot.com/2013/07/farm-fresh-dinner.html
Monday, July 15, 2013. Tonight for dinner we had a delicious meal made exclusively of ingredients from a local farm. I wish I could say this was a regular occurrence in our house, but I am just starting to get the hang of buying local. I spent a lot of time thinking "What's the difference between local and grocery store organics? As long as it doesn't have the pesticides, it's fine! But in the summertime, especially in the garden state, it is so great to eat local ingredients! Significant time on the roa...

Friday, July 27, 2012. Day 4- Did You Sleep in Yesterday? Well, did I? When I went to check on him, he was wet, but by the time I changed his diaper and PJ's it was clear that he wanted to play. So I brought him down with me and he played while I had my coffee and read my Bible, but soon he was cranky and tired again, and not wanting to nurse, so back up to bed he went. Our Heritage: April 2011

Thursday, April 28, 2011. This is so very delayed, but I can't force myself to write sometimes. Praise God, on Good Friday, on Easter Sunday, every day of this crazy/beautiful life because He is Risen! This Easter was once again a much needed reminder of the Truth that I accepted long ago, but so often fail to live. If He is truly the Resurrected King, I need to live like a princess of heaven! Up from the grave He arose! With a mighty triumph o'er His foes;. He arose a victor from the dark domain,. In th...

Monday, February 28, 2011. In honor of Evie's third birthday, we had a fabulous rainbow party! After some coaxing (she wanted a Tinker Bell party; I promised her a Tinker Bell present instead! We started researching the rainbow theme, and came up with tons of ideas! I just love planning parties, and this one was definitely one of my favorites! The whole idea started with a cake. I found this cake online and I was just dying to try it! I began by doubling this recipe. It was delicious and easy! Always tes...

Our Heritage: Healing Adelaide
http://kafkaheritage.blogspot.com/2013/07/healing-adelaide.html
Friday, July 12, 2013. Let's start at the very beginning. We tried everything, from the traditional to the extreme, and nothing seemed to work. Finally I bit the bullet and made an appointment with the dermatologist, who prescribed a topical steroid, and it worked! And she broke out again! And now I was one of them. Looking on packages, asking if dinner at a friend's house had been cooked in butter, cutting down on (but not omitting entirely) the dairy I ate. I had just taken those things for granted!
