3 Kids and a Rainbow. Sunday, April 28, 2013. Blue Eyes is 7 months old! More of an update to come later.just couldn't wait to share this photo. Friday, April 19, 2013. He started with a Hobbit poster he made, an Angry Birds poster he chose at the book fair and a poster from Phineas and Ferb. I'm sure it will only be a few more years before the planets and dinos feel a little young for him too. Sigh. Thursday, April 18, 2013. Monday, April 01, 2013. Last Saturday Liz and Van and the girls came over to dr...

3 Kids and a Rainbow. Wednesday, April 23, 2014. Easter started out well, with egg dying the day before. And then we got into the eggcitement of Easter morning. Here's a little series of Frederick checking out his hard-boiled egg. Here are the kids with all of their Easter bounty.trying to convince me to let them have just one more chocolate before they eat their breakfast. And the somewhat grumpy-faced barefoot attempt at a family photo. I was ready for an Easter glass of wine, but we did take advantage...

Sunday, February 15, 2009. Oh My, Valentines! Okay, so my Aunt Peggy's scored big on the boys' list. Big-big-BIG. A small package with big punch arrived late last week, and the boys opened it to find everything their little hearts could desire: candies, talking-giggling Valentine's Day cards, and. POKÉMON CARDS! It was a very happy end to an otherwise grey day. BIG THANKS to Aunt Peggy from the boys! What a great surprise! That wasn't the end of the celebrations, though! Thursday, February 12, 2009.

Thursday, November 12, 2009. Yesterday was a rainy Armistice Day, so we went to the movies ( Panda! 8212;huge thumbs up from all four of us) and spent the rest of the day drawing or trying to make sense of the disorder of our household, depending upon the age of the individual. Frankly, I wished I were doing like the young 'uns, but had to allow for the fact that by organising things in my studio space, I could better be drawing in the near future. Today, for example. As in: "Uhm. Are you serious? The Om...

Friday, May 29, 2009. More Fun With Bugs. A drawing done the other night, from the day's memories. Above is a fleeting moment in the lives of two boys who love. There's a BAD BEETLE! Why is it that Moms are always given the most thankless of tasks? He scooped it up and carried it all the way home, despite the relentless tickling, where we sequestered it - of course. The next morning, Tomi gasped again and cried out, "EGGS! SHE LAID TWO SETS OF EGGS! In any case, excitement abounds! Thursday, May 14, 2009.

Tuesday, January 27, 2009. A Disasters Emergency Committee (DEC) Appeal. For those of you living in the United States, I know that it is hard to get past the religiously-saturated political quagmire, and in fact much easier to avoid the subject of the conflict in Gaza altogether. I hope that you will watch this appeal, though, and give the conflict some thought from another angle or two. Thursday, January 22, 2009. Waking Up, Smelling the Coffee. Fyi - pictures have nothing to do with the text. But back ...

3 Kids and a Rainbow. Saturday, May 11, 2013. Happy Mother's Day to Me! Friday, May 03, 2013. I almost titled this post "March! Oh how the time does fly. Here are a few things we've been up to this month. Clara, Frederick and I drove to Iowa City for a few days because Ellen was in town. Mom suggested we take the girls to Cedar Rapids because they were putting on a ballet of Prokofiev's Cinderella. The girls put on their fancy dresses and had a great time! Last weekend we drove to Cincinnati to celebrate...

3 Kids and a Rainbow. Saturday, August 31, 2013. The timing was not good, as it was the first weekend after school had started, but I'm so glad we went to the Camp Wapsie staff reunion. The last time we were at camp was for a reunion as well. I was pregnant with Henry at the time. So this is the very first time any of the kids have been to Wapsie. Who brought our some frog catching nets for the kids. Here we are, eating in the lodge. We were all hungry enough for several tacos. Mostly I just love...The k...

3 Kids and a Rainbow. Saturday, January 11, 2014. Here are the photos from our last full day and the day of our departure. Not much to say about them. Pete had a rough morning. (JK.). There was some rain. Then we took a long walk down the beach. Tepanyaki dinner with an overly-friendly waiter. Pete, sad about his phone. Another walk, in the other direction. Our room from the outside. Ours is the middle floor on the end. Learning that our flight was delayed due to snow back home. Tuesday, January 07, 2014.
