Flynneous: Cooking, Reading & Photographing: The French Quarter at sunset

http://www.flynneous.blogspot.com/2014/11/the-french-quarter-at-sunset.html

Tuesday, November 18, 2014. The French Quarter at sunset. There's no where like the French Quarter - colorful and unruly, secretive and showy, smelly and elegant. I remember approaching the city as a teenager in a church van and hearing someone say they could feel. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). Flynneous: Cooking, Reading and Photographing. Thursday, November 20, 2014. Winding down the day in Nawlins. A few last pics of New Orleans wherein I see a mini cooper, a parade, a wedding party and visit Cafe du Monde. Isn't he so cute? This limo driver was nice enough to let me take his picture. Hi mother who hates having her picture taken. A bientot, New Orleans. Tuesday, November 18, 2014. The French Quarter at sunset. Saturday, October 11, 2014. Fall in New Orleans The Garden District. I've got 900 plus. Photos from my recent trip to the Southland and I'll be rolling out a select few as I get them edited. So be prepared to soak up the humidity and peeling paint, the sun speckled buildings, and live oaks. It's going to be great. Thenonce I've built up enough reserves to get my film developed, it'll be like deja vu around here. (Can I do a Kickstarter campaign for film developing? It's no potato salad but.). Up next&#46...

Flynneous: Cooking, Reading & Photographing: June 2013

http://www.flynneous.blogspot.com/2013_06_01_archive.html

Friday, June 14, 2013. To me, one of the great mysteries of the world is that people who probably don't have any more wisdom than the rest of us can create beautiful, redemptive art. If you've ever written something, taken a photo, or strummed a guitar, I bet you've felt it - something beyond yourself that's almost creating through you rather than directly from you. I love the following quote from one of my favorite movies, A Love Song for Bobby Long. This interaction is one of my favorite in the movie.

the dog's blog: November 2009

http://therooddog.blogspot.com/2009_11_01_archive.html

Just wanted to post a comment on a friend's blog. now it's host to the worst podcast ever. Sunday, November 29, 2009. Finally got my hands on some Deitrick Bonhoffer. A friend gave me two of his books. I'm starting out with "Life Together". I knew that I was going to be a fan of this book when in the introduction, it includes a story of Bonhoffer quoting Luther at a confrence saying, "The curse of godless man can sound more pleasant in God's ear than the Hallelujah of the pious.". We Are The Jordans.

The Lo Down: December 2009

Sunday, December 6. Asian version of the space race. Text (translated into English by yours truly) found above an illustrative cartoon above the urinal in a male/female salon bathroom around the corner from our apartment:. One small step forward, one giant step for civility. It echoed of Neil Armstrong, only, the subject matter is rather less concerned with the final fronteir and more with personal hygiene. http://stevenandjess.blogspot.com/2012/01/las-vegas.html

The Ways of the Wallaces. Two people trying to find their way in the world. Tuesday, January 10, 2012. Over Christmas we had the opportunity to go to Las Vegas as that was the airport we flew in and out of to visit Steven's family. Well, our anniversary is January 5th - so we celebrated early. Our Vegas adventures were to include the Broadway show The Lion King, dinner, festivities and other merriment (maybe some gambling? Not in the plan. It was really fun. The Lo Down: edible ramblings

Monday, March 22. At a recent group hang out at our favorite Irish pub in town, Justin asked everyone to respond with two life goals: the first to accomplish within the next two to five years, and the second by the time we reach 50( ish. My answer to the first was to start my own garden and grow some veggies! To the second, it was to get a masters, eventually. But that one is far less fleshed out and for another post. I just read on my Kindle. (Thanks Stephen! Not only was the article about foodie die ha...

http://therooddog.blogspot.com/2011/04/anti-intellectualism-in-church.html

Just wanted to post a comment on a friend's blog. now it's host to the worst podcast ever. Tuesday, April 05, 2011. Anti-intellectualism in the Church. If you have ever wondered why Christian influence is not proportionate to the number of Christians in America? Or why churches are no longer the center of communities; why pastors are no longer considered intellectual leaders? If you want another two good reads related to this, look to Nolls Scandal of the Evangelical Mind and Hunters To Change the World.
