Spaceships & Spreadsheets: October 2014
http://www.notmo.co.uk/2014_10_01_archive.html
Tuesday, 7 October 2014. So, the majority of view points, arguments and opinions regarding the new jump changes have been thoroughly discussed - in dozens of Reddit threads, 372 pages (at the time of writing) of official Eve forum thread and I'm sure across all the various Alliance, Corporation and other voice comms and forums. Before I get onto the main topic of this blog, I'd like to point out which part of the changes I have contention with. So, what does a medium to long term pilot have to aim for?

Spaceships & Spreadsheets: Bloops

Friday, 22 May 2015. Test Alliance has a special interest group (SIG) called Predditors. Predditors is a group of people who like flying cloaked things. They support our strat ops with bombing wings (with limited success), but their main purpose is hunting enemy pilots doing PVE and "dropping" them. The group is actually a really good advertisement for Test as a whole, and as Dreddit HR, I've seen a fair amount of apps from people who are only interested in Test because of Predditors. The Armageddon melt...

Spaceships & Spreadsheets: December 2014
http://www.notmo.co.uk/2014_12_01_archive.html
Monday, 29 December 2014. I'm not dead, I promise. So it's been like a month and a half since I last wrote anything here. I kind of burnt out of Eve recently. After joining Black Legion, fleets have kind of been limited to when Elo wants to run a fleet, so my daily need to log in has been diminished. After about a month of only logging in for CTAs, I let my subs lapse (needing money for Christmas presents was also a contributing factor). Links to this post. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom). Spaceships & Spreadsheets: December 2013

Tuesday, 17 December 2013. Blog posts over the festive period are going to be sporadic. I'm fairly busy IRL but I'll try and find time to type as and when I can. Links to this post. Friday, 13 December 2013. An Elusive Good Fight. Last night, we killed a number of T3s (and a Brutix) and I made 100m. We'd just finished plexing when someone started shouting about T3s on our static hole. They were in a Buzzard, which was promptly locked. Their gang comprised of:. We continued to fight, without losing a thin...

Spaceships & Spreadsheets: February 2014

Thursday, 6 February 2014. EFT: Things you might not know. Considering the large amount of new players, I've been trying to think of something good to do for them. I wanted it to be educational. Whilst theory crafting something today, I realised I was staring right at it. For those that don't already know, EFT (standing for Eve Fitting Tool) is a small program which contains ships and modules, allowing you to 'fit' ships out of the game client itself. Including reload time into your calculations makes th...

Spaceships & Spreadsheets: Jump Freighting
http://www.notmo.co.uk/2015/05/jump-freighting.html
Tuesday, 19 May 2015. So, this past week has been quite stressful for me. This is quite a long read, but I wanted to document my ordeal and hopefully you'll find it interesting and/or entertaining. This plan was sound, except for the fact that we didn't live in Venal, so finding such a wormhole was not going to be easy. Once I got back home, I started planning. My first problem was that I didn't own a jump freighter. I did, however, own a JF pilot. I didn't really want to buy a JF, as I have no r...My so...

Spaceships & Spreadsheets: Pyfa/EFT Damage Profiles
http://www.notmo.co.uk/2015/09/pyfaeft-damage-profiles.html
Thursday, 24 September 2015. It's been a while eh? I just made a big post to Reddit, and thought I might as well copy it over to here as well for longevity. I just downloaded Pyfa to play with the new BC changes. I'm normally an EFT man, but I'm trying to convert myself. When I was looking to import the various different damage profiles, the top two links on google didn't work, and it appears as though Gorski has changed the way you import the damage types. Name] = EM:0, Therm:0, Kin:0, Exp:0. DamageProf...

Wednesday, 28 May 2014. Finding a fleet comp. I took part (I ain't gon' turn down iskies bro') , and it got me thinking about how you should approach creating a fleet doctrine from scratch. The following was my thought process for creating my suggestion for this competition. The requirement for this example is that it must be lower than battleship size due to mass restrictions on wormholes, it must be shield based, it must be mobile enough to chase an enemy and it must be able to support capital ships.
