Gifts of God: NMC to Haiti: Arrival
http://northmetrohaiti.blogspot.com/2011/08/our-team-arrive-safely-in-haiti.html
Sunday, August 7, 2011. Our team arrived safely in Haiti and we were welcomed at the airport by heat and a live Haitian band. We were picked up by a flat-bed truck with a cage on the back, and whisked through the streets of Port au Prince. As we drove through the streets of this impoverished, destructed, yet beautiful city, our group was silent, taking it all in. Tomorrow, we attend church at the orphanage, spend some time loving on the kids and then will take a city tour. August 7, 2011 at 4:14 PM.

Gifts of God: NMC to Haiti: Port au Prince
http://northmetrohaiti.blogspot.com/2011/08/port-au-prince.html
Monday, August 8, 2011. What we saw as we were driven on a tour of Port au Prince will take much time to process. Demolished buildings, palaces and cathedrals are far too abundent. Life goes on however, as women carry baskets of fruits and bottles of oil on their heads. Garbage burns in piles by the road. Colorful cabs are everywhere Street vendors line every street. Thousands and thousands of tents, cities of tents. Poverty like many on our team had never seen, nor imagined. Our Verse for the Kids.

Gifts of God: NMC to Haiti: August 2011
http://northmetrohaiti.blogspot.com/2011_08_01_archive.html
Saturday, August 13, 2011. Your Pain Has Changed Me. I saw what I saw and I can't forget it. I heard what I heard and I can't go back. I know what I know and I can't deny it. Something on the road. Cut me to the soul. Your pain has changed me. Your face a memory. Your hope a fire. Your courage asks me what I'm afraid of. And what I know of love. We've done what we've done and we can't erase it. We are what we are and it's more than enough. We have what we have but it's no substitution. I Saw What I Saw".

By the obediance and faith of our hosts, Katia and Smith. And studied scripture seeking hope, peace and wisdom. As we process all that we have seen. Your ...

Gifts of God: NMC to Haiti: Beach Party Goodbye
http://northmetrohaiti.blogspot.com/2011/08/beach-party-goodbye.html
Saturday, August 13, 2011. Before travelling to Haiti, Dan,. The orphanage director, told us that the. Kids have never seen the ocean, and had never been in a pool. He suggested that we leave the kids on a happy note. With a beach party. To say that this was pure joy for the kids would be a tremendous understatement. The morning of the party,. The kids stayed in their rooms while we decorated. We blew up beach balls, filled two baby pools,. Hung decorations, cut fruit and prepared water balloons. The kid...
