Isn't it strange how one thing can lead to another, sometimes good, sometimes bad, on this occasion it was good. She said " I am about to feed my 2 week old Barn Owl and would you like to come down? She also has a adult male Barn Owl which she flies, a male Little Owl, it isn't until you are inches away from one that you realise just how small they are, and finally a Scops Owl. 6 August 2015 at 23:17.

Focusing On Wildlife.*. Friday, 8 May 2015. 7th May: Elmley NNR *. Hoping that it was going to be a nice day I decided to go to Elmley for 3 hours. As it happens, the weather forecasters was right. The birds of interest on the way to the hides was a good number of Reed Warblers singing, a male Reed Bunting, a Dabchick in breeding plumage, Little Egrets,and a pair of Coots with 5 little ones bringing up the rear and Mute Swan sitting on a nest,. I was lucky to encounter this rare Bonaparte's Gull at RSPB Elmley Isle of Sheppey on Wed the 1-5-2013 it was on the Wellmarsh scrape. A rare vagrant from North America and Alaska few records of this bird in the UK and Ireland it is one of the few gulls that will nest in coniferous tree's. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). About Me And My Patch. Saturday, 8 August 2015. An off patch day today had me visiting Thursley Common with Marc Heath ( see his superb blog here. Dragon Habitat At Thursley. We spent 7 hours in glorious weather chasing down Dragonflies, of which we found 16 species, two of those being new to me, the Black Darter and the Common Hawker, although the latter only gave flight views, the former were seen in good numbers, giving lots of photo opportunities.
