Magellan is a Sussex-based four-piece band that performs a range of traditional tunes and songs, and also contemporary material, mainly on acoustic instruments. We play acoustic guitars, electric bass guitar, flute, penny-whistle, mandola, and piano-accordion, but not all at the same time! Find out more about the band members . here. Golden Slipper Club
The Golden Slipper Club is a small select venue where musicians can find an informal environment in which to perform. Those who like listening to live music will enjoy a relaxed atmosphere in which to appreciate the varied music and styles to be heard there. Musicians perform on an informal stage area, and each act is invited to contribute about three songs in a spot of around 15 minutes. The Golden Slipper Club meets on the first Thursday of each month. The Shoreham Sessions
Greetings from the Shoreham Sessions! There have been traditional folk music sessions in Shoreham-by-Sea for over 20 years. A 'session' is a group of musicians meeting in a pub to play tunes and sing songs. The music mainly originates from the folk tradition, and might have come from England, Scotland, Ireland or elsewhere, the origins often having been lost in the mists of time. The Shoreham Sessions are currently led by local band Magellan. What kind of music is played? Come along and play, or listen!

On the 4th July 2009 bands gathered from all parts of Sussex and beyond, to perform at a day of music, mainly in the folk style, in the garden of the Bridge Inn, Shoreham-by-sea. Folk Mass Music Original Recordings. 1960's and '70s Favorite Folk Mass songs. By the way, growing up I never understood how the "Missa Bossa Nova" ever sounded anything like a Bossa Nova.well after hearing the original recordings with its percussion and flute solos as well as its great bass lines it is easy to hear that it actually does. Finally, after listening to the original versions I believe the word "Folk" seems very appropriate to use for this music. I think you'll see what I mean.
