Mulled Apple Cider - Food & Table

http://www.foodandtable.com/mulled-apple-cider

Celebrating the table with recipes and stories. January 1, 2017. Hot mulled winter beverages have become one of my favorite things about the cold months here, and I’ve figured out why. They’re the adult versions of something I loved as a child. Spicy Mulled Apple Cider. Serves: 6, 8 oz. mugs of cider. 3 pints (48oz.) of dry apple cider (alcoholic)*, divided. 8531; cup freshly squeezed orange juice (about one medium orange). 6 strips of orange peel. 1 ball of stem ginger*. 3 tablespoons light brown sugar.

Savory Apple + Rosemary Galette: Thanksgiving in England - Food & Table

http://www.foodandtable.com/galette

Celebrating the table with recipes and stories. Savory Apple Rosemary Galette: Thanksgiving in England. November 22, 2016. Everyone is in full swing Christmas mode around here. The Manchester Christmas Market is open, mince pies are in the shops, holiday adverts abound. It’s all very cozy and exciting, and I’m stringing up the twinkle lights to join in the celebration (and to add some light to our ever shortening daylight hours! This Thursday. Thanksgiving. Savory apple rosemary galette. That’s how&#...

British Roasted Potatoes - Food & Table

http://www.foodandtable.com/british-roasted-potatoes

Celebrating the table with recipes and stories. January 24, 2017. This lovely post was written by my husband, Sam, whose love for potatoes is eclipsed only by his appetite. I love potatoes: fried, mashed, baked, salad, soup, stews, roasted, even instant potatoes. If someone told me they’d have potatoes at a meal, I’d be there two hours early. But even I, potato connoisseur that I am, didn’t know about the British obsession with roasted potatoes. But they are delicious enough to have anytime. Roasted pota...

A Year in the Land of Scones - Food & Table

http://www.foodandtable.com/scones

Celebrating the table with recipes and stories. A Year in the Land of Scones. October 24, 2016. Last month marked a year that we’ve lived in England. Why not shake it up? Bake a batch of English scones instead of pancakes or French toast. A little, airy English scone? Loaded with rich cream and tangy jam? With a cup of tea or coffee? Yes Please. I’ll take two. A Year in the Land of Scones. Recipe type: Simple British Scones. 1¾ cups all-purpose flour, plus more for dusting and coating your cutter. Rub th...

Food and Sweat and Beers | A decadent attempt at extreme endurance

Food and Sweat and Beers. A decadent attempt at extreme endurance. Downloads & Tools. March 9, 2013. It is ten weeks to my second triathlon. So I went out for the whole shebang of swimming, mountain-biking and running this morning to get a feel for where I am with each of the disciplines when I throw them together. It confirmed my suspicions that I still suck at swimming, that my biking is so-so and that running is my strongest suit. If I can just stick to my training programme. A piss-up in a brewery.

Food & Taboo

Wtorek, 15 sierpnia 2017. Italian Restaurants - Italia Galeria Lodzka. For all of you Pizza lovers, here is the place in Lodz that you may not think off but you should. Located in a shopping-mall, looking a bit out of date but run by a Italian family with heart and soul, this restaurant does not make any compromise on how real Italian food should really taste. From Pasta to Pizza, the food is perfectly cooked and taste exactly how it should. My view: worth the stop, non pretentious, great food - a must go.

After Dinner

Thursday, August 6, 2009. I am moving my blog to a different host site. The new address is similar and I've imported all of my previous posts:. I just wanted to try some things on the other site and hopefully get my email subscription feed to work. I'm planning on posting there later today! Wednesday, July 29, 2009. A Garden for Stories. I'm late to my Tuesday deadline partly because our internet stopped working, but partly because I've had some trouble deciding what to write about this week. This realiz...

foodandtap | home cookin' and home brewin'

Home cookin' and home brewin'. December 19, 2011. A few weeks ago we constructed a gingerbread house. This particular house is our main christmas decoration and I like it! Ok, back to the real point of this post…a delicious, moist, and decadent gingerbread. The delicate cake like bread may become another holiday tradition. The “bread” was easy to make, the oven warmed the house, and a soft gingerbread scent created a cozy feeling. Without further ado here is the recipe! 1 3/4 c flour. 1 1/2 tsp ginger.
