Ashley Food Heaven: 3/1/09 - 4/1/09
http://ashleyfoodheaven.blogspot.com/2009_03_01_archive.html
Sunday, March 1, 2009. It has been a few months since my last post. I have been adapting to the new room and new housemates. Since I have been downgrading my life style now (no more having a house to myself), it is hard for me to do or cook what I like since I am sharing the kitchen with others. So, here it goes for today. It started off with my pizza and it was well received by them. I am very glad but it is a pity that I did not capture a few shots! For dinner, my housemate cooked for the night:. There...

Thursday, July 16, 2009. HmmI think I baked Raisin muffins before but the other version did not yield me a very very satisfying results. May be it is because I do not really like cinnamon and nutmeg which is in the recipe. This time around, the ingredients are very simple and the steps are even more simpler. Nutmeg and Cinamon is not used too:. 1 3/4 Cup Self Raising Flour. 1/4 Cup Butter (melted). 1/2 tsp Vanilla Essence. 1 Preheat the oven at 200 degree Celsius. 3 Mix all dry ingredients in a bowl.

Saturday, December 19, 2009. Super Secret Family Recipe.Shhhh. Brun Kager. For many years my husband has waxed poetic about these cookies his mom makes. I asked for the recipe several times, and always got the 'oh yeah, I'll have to write it down.' But the recipe never materialized. Well, a couple of weeks ago, I was visiting with her and she HAD THE RECIPE! I think they're pretty darn good. A great cookie with a cup of coffee or tea. By the way, I've found many other recipes for Brun. 1 tsp baking soda.

Thursday, August 20, 2009. Grilled Thai Beef Salad. Of all the Ellie Krieger. Recipes I've tried so far, this one is HANDS DOWN my favorite. Dare I say it? The perfect summer meal. I modified the recipe a bit (as usual) - I added more veggies, used scallions instead of shallots, put a little sesame oil and rice vinegar in the marinade/dressing, and threw some rice noodles in to give it a bit more heft so it would be more of an entree type dish. The original recipe is. And this is what I did:. Soak rice n...

Monday, June 29, 2009. Okay, today is a good day. I can't tell you how excited I am to try it. Coming from a commercial fishing family, it's a complete embarrassment I've never used planks for grilling. Just straight on the barbecue or broiled. So, hopefully next week, I'll be outside grilling with the planks and trying out. Saturday, June 27, 2009. I bring this salad to almost every potluck/cookout. Everyone always asks for the recipe, and I'm almost. At how simple it is. 2 small bags frozen peas. From ...

Thursday, July 30, 2009. I am a Cobb. Big time. Obsessively. Yet, for some reason, I've never made one at home. I attribute that to the long list of ingredients. But I know that if I did keep everything on hand, I would probably eat a Cobb. Needless to say, I was pretty excited to try this recipe. Plus, it hot as an oven here right now (101 degrees yesterday, a virtual inferno for us tender Pacific Northwesterners. So a salad was a perfect dish to 'cook' (or not cook). Here is the original recipe. Remove...

The Lovin' Oven: Behind The Scenes of Cupoladua Oven: No, No Nanette- Trade Show No-nos
http://thelovinoven.blogspot.com/2010/06/no-no-nanette-trade-show-no-nos.html
Wednesday, June 16, 2010. No, No Nanette- Trade Show No-nos. 1) Eating your own samples. Buyer and trade shows can be 5-8 hours long, so it's reasonable that one would get hungry during the event. But eating samples from the plate you have just set out for attendees is not particularly attractive and somewhat unhygenic if you are still wearing the food service glove you are using to set out the samples (yes, this does happen). 2) Sitting down at your ta. 3) Assuming a football block position.
