She couldn’t believe how easy it was when they gave her the recipe, and now that I’ve made it, I’m equally impressed with what you get for such a small number of ingredients. It’s also fat free! 2 cups dry lentils ( i used 1 cup red and 1 cup brown; it originally calls for red). 5 – 6 cups water. 8 – 9 cloves of garlic, sliced. 1 teaspoon cumin, freshly ground.

Mocha-ish chocolate cake with caramel pecan glaze. December 20, 2007, 12:58 pm. As you may recall from question 22 of the survey below, i had plans to veganize a recipe. For chocolate cake in a jar with gooy pecan-ful topping. the bit i found interesting was the baking in a jar, but as plans always change, it happened that my first attempt to make it took the form of a bundt cake. Heaping teaspoon ginger, minced. 1 small shallot, sliced. 1 tablespoon fresh mint, chopped (or 1 tsp dry? 1 tablespoon lemon juice. 1 tablespoon lemon zest. 2 tablespoons braggs or soy sauce. Asparagus and tofu linguine in lemon tomato sauce with leeks & oregano. June 1, 2009, 12:29 am. 450 grams linguine, cooked al dante. 1 large bunch of asparagus, tough ends discarded, bite-sized. 1 package “firmer” la soyarie tofu (or another brand’s extra firm) cut into small (1cm) cubes. Olive oil, black pepper and chicken-style broth powder, for baking the above at 400f until the asparagus is tender and lightly charred, and the tofu is chewy/starting to crisp. 1 tablespoon olive oil.

Anna and i had a pie baking date planned for today. she loves blueberries and lots of crust, as the final result clearly shows. to make the very decadent crust, i followed the instructions for pate brisee found here. And added a 1/4 cup of cubed non hydrogenated shortening, to get the same ratio of fat to flour as in the lovely crust my roomate uses, which can be found here. 2 tablespoons corn starch.

There was good food consumed, but nothing outrageous – mostly lots of Polish cabbage, and some homemade pie thanks to Peter’s fabulously talented grandma (who wouldn’t let me up from Christmas dinner until I finished my third piece, not that I complained or anything). Here is my “recipe” for a Katie Rice Bowl – obviously, adjust to your own desires. 1/2 cup dry rice. 1/2 cup black beans. Dinner in a bowl!

Unfortunately, despite my best intentions, I’ve had a hard time incorporating these little buggers into my food.
